Trait Zones Do Not Work

I’ve tried using trait zones, and they do not work. Every setting reverts to default upon exiting Forge. Is there any way to make them actually work?

I’ve also noticed this happening in custom games occasionally, where I will change a setting and it will just randomly revert back to default for no reason.

Save the map, then quit. Or change the trait zone settings in the start menu, then save it. Also: trait zones can’t overlap.

Did that, that’s how you set them up, they revert to default.

Anybody?

This is a major problem. They impliment an awesome new feature, and it doesn’t work…

Come on.

Not that it helps by my saying this, but I’ve noticed this issue as well. I tried everything I can think of to fix it. Guess it’s just a cool broken feature that we’ll never get to use, or they’ll patch it next week… (shrug)

When in forge mode push start and select trait zone properties… Then select the trait channel you want to edit.

it works… i don’t know what you guys aren’t doing, but it works.

Thanks for the obvious advice. The trait zone will work when you first build it, but after you save the map and then go back into forge to edit it, the trait zone will no longer work. I’ve had this happen multiple times. The only way I’ve found to fix it is to completely delete the trait zone and remake it, but then once you save and exit the game it just happens again.

Unless there’s some option tucked away that I can’t find, then this is not a case of operator error. Trait zones are bugged. I can attest to this with 100% confidence. If I had a capture card I would make a video and upload it to show what I’m talking about. And I’m strictly talking about when you reenter the map in the forge environment, so I have no idea if this happens when you use the map in a custom game.

OK… I have done as you said, left the forge game and even get this… turned off my xbox!! When I go back everything is still the exact same way as I had left it. The trait zone is still there, and the abilities are active and unchanged from what I had set.

I am not sure what problems you are having but it works.

I have had no problems with trait zones other than accidentally bumping the zone into the wrong channel as I was editing size of it. All I can say it make sure you have the channels correctly defined. Make sure your custom game settings aren’t the same as the trait zone or you won’t notice the difference.

gonna have to say they worked for me no problems, dunno what you’re doing.

I had the same problem. I think the cause is that there were too many changes to the base traits. I tried reducing the size and it worked.
