Trait Fields/Vehicle COMBOS (Bumper Mammoths)

Since starting my Halo career at the age of 9 with CE, my favourite game to play with my friends and brothers has always been Warthog Bumper Cars. I don’t know why. It’s just hilarious. In light of this, I have a request for 343:

Please 343, let one of the new features of forge be the manipulation of vehicle speed. Maybe we can ‘fix’ a character trait field (with speed increased) to one?

I only ask so the prophecy can be fulfilled and the ultimate gametype can be made*:

MAMMOTH BUMPER-CARS

I don’t think I need to explain the rules.

Since the birth of this thread, I have since come up with new ideas for variations on this game type:

FFA MAMMOTH BUMPERS

A FFA gametype, with 4-8 players, each in their own mammoths. Hectic messy fun.

TEAM MAMMOTH BUMPERS

2 teams of 4 players or 4 teams of 3 players (depending on map size). 1 Mammoth per team. 1 player drivers whilst the others man the cannons to help destroy the opposition. Explosive action!

*Will also require Mammoths to be in Forge

I like it. I might do a thread about Halo 4 sandbox combinations/forge ideas.

Hmm, you may be onto something

Did you read his entire post?
He mentions forge manipulation fields to increase speeds.

Silly

The ability to alter vehicle speed should have been in Forge a long time ago.

I overlooked it. I have since edited my post to reflect upon his idea.

I got the idea from a Bungie VIDoc of Reach, where it was showing off Forge and Custom games. The player attached the ‘hill’ (from King of the Hill) to a Warthog, so it became a driveable hill!

I hope the same can be done with the character trait fields… INVISIBLE WARTHOGS?! :open_mouth:

Bumper hogs was one of the things ruined with the advent of H2. From then on, vehicle physics were a bit too realistic/modern for my tastes. Reach physics might be unstable but they certainly deviated from the path H2 set and I appreciate that.

If 343 can release a gametype that restores the CE futuristic vehicle bumpy physics, I’d love it. It’s just no fun crashing into a wall or another vehicle and being stuck unless you back up.

RDR’s god awful hunting trip Flashbacks!
You could call it Invisiboars.

Yes.

I totally agree with you. The Warthog physics in CE were perfection. Non-coincidentally, I have the most fun playing Bumper-Hogs in CE.

Flying 30 metres up in the air, from a standard bump, is a feeling you just cannot beat!

This would be awesome! I can already imagine playing it!

We need vehicle trait zones now… not only could we manipulate the speed, but the gravity too! we could build some awesome gametypes with low gravity warthogs… i think i might cry if they dont include this now…

Very much so. This should’ve come with Halo 3.

> MAMMOTH BUMPER-CARS

You had me at MAMMOTH BUMPER-CARS

Think of all the amazing stunt videos that could be made with controlled gravity and speed. The possibilities are endless, with this simple feature!

A Mongoose going at lightspeed?

You would only be able to enjoy that for a second since you get killed by the Guardians when you go too far out of the Map.

You have my thanks for that. Absolutely.

Let’s not forget about how we could flip Wraiths with the hog and go flying off of them (and scorpions) when driving a Ghost. Those were good times.

You can get a mongoose to go light speed already… What you need to do is find a non undercut rock and a slight downhill slope. Put the goose against the rock and ram it with a wraith… if you do it right and your lucky you should be able to shoot the goose out of pretty much any map.

Mammoths are actually quite fast compared to Elephants, you can see one moving in this video.

And even if they are in Forge (I reeeaaally hope they are it would make this game freaking awesome), it’s unlikely you’ll be able to place more than four. Two even.
