What other Promethean or Forerunner would have John strapped to a damn table? I’m calling the Ur-Didact, full throttle on this one.
It’s been know the Didact was the primary antagonist for some time. I’m still skeptical of it being the Ur-Didact, but it most likely is.

Well it does have John strapped to a table and scanning him. A Cryptum scans John, in-game.
After spending all that time in the cryptum I don’t think that the didact is going to be bff’s with many people. It just doesn’t make sense for him to be the ancient evil. Will he be the antagonist? Yes, but not the true ancient evil. I’m still sticking with the precursors

I feel like between the two Didacts, the Ur-Didact would be the most likely to go and kill some humans. The Bornsteller-Didact seemed a lot more relaxed around them.
I still don’t fully believe the Didcat is the Ancient Evil. Remember when the Halo 3 trailer came out with the thing on Earth opening up and Cortana said “This is the way the world ends”? Everyone thought that the thing on Earth was The Ark. But it wasn’t until you played the game that it was revealed that the thing on Earth was just a portal that lead to The Ark.
I could totally be wrong but just saying you never know until you actually experience it.

I have reasons for my skepticism, though I cannot discuss it for the time being
If it’s Bornstellar Didact, I wonder how Ur-Didact looks like… seeing how the books describing his original form as “bad -Yoink-.”
why does he appear to be friendly on the motion sensor? He is displayed as a yellow diamond or is my mind playing tricks on me this early in the morning? The other Promethean knights were displayed red during his flashbacks.

It’s a very yellowish orange, and it flashes orange a couple times.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I should go to sleep now xD
Dat Didact.
Regardless of incarnation, applying the BR to his face will put the angry Forerunner down.
I hope Chief isn’t in one of those fields that the Didact used to kill The Primordial. He’s totally boned if that’s the case. Of course, it could just be a simple stasis field.
I’m pretty sure that symbol at the end is the Didact’s symbol right?
We’ve known the didact would be involved somehow for a long time. I still doubt he is the ancient evil. Maybe the enemy for Halo 4, but not the trilogy/saga.
I was actually planning to ask about which Didact it was about half an hour ago, but I noticed a topic asking the same thing a few days ago got deleted.
Anyway, I have reasons to believe it’s Bornstellar as well, but wasn’t ur-Didact killed. In which case, how could it possibly be him?

Ur-Didact wasn’t killed - just read the description for Silentium on Amazon.

He is not strapped to a table he is stuck in some kind of gravitational beam.
i can tell you that it isnt clear which didact it is
It’s definitely likely OP. But in the true nature of Sci-fi mysteries… which is pretty much what we’re seeing with Halo 4… there could very well be someone pulling the strings behind the scene’s.
it is the UR-Didact…just look at his size when he stands opposite John
