Traditional and Evolved Versions Of Halo Together?

Return Traditional and Evolved Version of Halo?

I was just wondering on this because I think it would be good for both newer players and older vets to keep Halo fresh again even though some people would like to have Halo 3.5. So my question is why not both?

Also my buddy tied the game at the last second and the Red Team still won the match lol :frowning:

I think it would be a good step in the right direction with Halo IMO

They already had their chance with H5G. Giving Chief the classic gameplay and giving Locke the augmented gameplay.
They chose not to do it because of their “vision”. Now they’re getting their just deserts.
(Also, don’t call it “evolved”. Nothing about those changes is evolution.)

What? What do you mean chief had classic gameplay and Locke the augemented?

They could have delivered both gameplays in one package: With Spartan-II’s playing like… well, like Spartan-IIs in the previous games, and Spartan-IVs playing like Spartan-IVs in Halo 4’s war games. It would have satisfied both sides of the community and at the same time settled the argument which version of Halo is more popular once and for all.

But, oh well, couldn’t be bothered with it. Way too busy cutting splitscreen and adding microtransactions…

But why not have it in Halo 6? If 343 actually did it correctly it would be great, because we could have the awesome classic gameplay back along with the new gameplay.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it IS evolution. Do you think dinosaurs thought it was awesome being replaced by mammals? Of course not, evolution isn’t fair, only thos who adapt survive. So in conclusion, ADAPT and git gud. Lol[/spoiler

Campaign sure, multiplayer would be a mess if you ask me.

You sound like you’re complaining just for the sake of complaining.

I don’t think Celestis was saying that the multiplayer would let you choose if you wanted to be a Spartan-II or a Spartan-IV, just the Campaign would let you do that by letting you play the classic gameplay as Chief and the new gameplay as Locke.

Um, no, no it is not evolution. Evolution implies that it is getting better. Sales and population numbers ( or lack thereof) says otherwise.

And I can’t wait for a classic Halo game to come out, so that I can say adapt and “git gud” to everyone who complains that it is “too slow”.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but “evolution” is the biological term for a random mutation that makes you different from other members of your species, thus giving you an advantage in day-to-day life over them.
The Halo franchise was different before, whereas now it’s become increasingly more similar to other shooters on the market.
Therefore, it’s the exact opposite of evolution…

Why?
People are already making classic gamemodes, so what’s the difference? Vehicles don’t need rebalancing, weapons only need an alternative image to show when using smart-link (the magnification can stay the same), and like this it would even make sense to have map remixes (one variant per mode).
In fact, up until I saw the first gameplay from blue team, I was absolutely convinced that this is the way they’re going, and there will be a big reveal after release that it’s two games in one.
Listen, I’m not arguing to have S-IIs fighting S-IVs in multiplayer, just having both modes available for preference.
Although it would be kinda fun to see that play out in an Ivasion- or Warzone-type scenario…

Of course it would be great. But it won’t happen. Because it doesn’t fly with 343’s vision of the Halo franchise…

I like the augmented gameplay.

You get your filthy knowledge out of here! It has no place here!

You mean the way every other halo game played out before Halo 4, and to an extent reach? I’m still waiting for 343i to fulfill the promise of “bringing Halo back to its roots.”

Actually your buddy didn’t tie the game. He decided he wanted to ground pound which let the time expire before he got to the goal. If you pause the video you can see the clock hits zero while he is still in the air waiting for his gp to charge. Had he just boosted you wouldn’t have lost.

I don’t really understand what you are getting at specifically, even in the video. You should state your thoughts other than just dev maps for classic halo gameplay and halo 5 gameplay.

The whole basis of H5 arena gameplay was shaped around classic halo with 4v4 balanced, competitive E3 type games.

I suggest giving some pointers or ideas on how they could do this and it might make a little more sense to me such as:

  • Bringing back the H2 Battle Rifle and H1 Magnum
  • Having playlists with no abilities and classic Halo speed

I personally don’t think anything will be drastically better for Halo 6. 343 is already committed to their own opinions and has proven time and time again that they don’t want to make everyone happy (even if there is a majority opinion).

You know what I find to be so ironic about the whole argument about whether or not Halo should evolve? The fact that the first Halo game was titled “Halo: Combat Evolved”.
