So I don’t know about you guys but I think adding the ability to trade with other players in Halo 5 would be a great addition.
The reason why I say this is because there are Halo 5 players that mostly play arena, which they will mostly want cosmetics, and players that play warzone, that would want reqs. I know for a fact that I would trade a couple of mythic or legendary reqs for raider and wrath helmets that my friend has because I’m more of an arena person and he’s a warzone person. Being able to trade would also help those people struggling to win at warzone because you can give them all the ar’s,br’s,dmr’s,smg’s and magnums (but why would you give your extended mag magnum away?) you don’t want and get something out of it.
I really feel like adding this feature to halo five would make players a lot happier because they can get what they want, and give what they don’t need. Do you guys think that 343i should add this to halo 5? Or do you have a better idea?
I’d be all about trading Req’s with friends. I have way too many as is and I’d like to be able to help out some of my buddies who might not have all the weapon unlocks like me

Yea, I don’t think it would take much work for 343i to put it in, it’s not like making a new map or game mode.

While I would be interested to see what kind of economy popped up and what the value of items settled on over time it would end up a lot like some MMOs that have similar systems. People would exploit the young and those who didn’t know better. Some people would grind endlessly and then sell stuff for actual money. It is an interesting concept, but would likely cause a whole mess of problems.

I see your point on this, but for people leading kids that don’t know what they have into trading (isn’t halo 5 rated T, but I know no one fallows those) someone already brought up that it should be only allowed with your friends and Spartan company. For paying money for loot it’s simple, make it only loot for loot, no real currency or microtranzactions allowed. For it being like an mmo, I can’t really fix that, but you are right about how it would look like that.
This would be too easily exploited. Having unlocked everything myself, I end up accumulating tons of REQ points very easily. I have over 70 rare Warzone RP jackpots, and usually hit 100k Points before buying a bunch of gold packs. So using this system, I could give literally every piece of armor and every helmet to a friend, them trading me a bunch of mongooses, or any other common REQ. Then in 2 days I’d have all my cosmetics back the same way they were before.
Then my friend is going to have a huge chunk of his REQ pool done for no work at all, and will be getting mega lootz out of his packs at SR10, which seems pretty ridiculous. I just don’t see the system working very well.

And this is wear me and you disagree (i think). I see a halo game wear all armor is the same and should have no rarity, but if it’s about reqs, they could make it cosmetic only.

Yeah, until I or someone else posts on craiglist/ebay/whatever that for 2.99 I’ll trade you a nornfang for a needler or the like. Even as we speak exploitation goes on in some Spartan companies and more than a few people would add you and get you to add them just to screw you over. There are adults who fall for this stuff as well, being gullible or having a bad day happens to us all at one point or another. The idea has been brought up a lot before. I think it would be interesting to watch, but it will get ruined for everyone.

Well the armors DO have a rarity in Halo 5, so the game you’re seeing doesn’t exist. If you are just trading cosmetics, that’d kind of defeat the purpose. You unlock all commons, uncommons, rares, etc. in order mostly (if you use an efficient method). So if someone is using the basic method, they’ll only really be able to trade with someone at about the same REQ unlock percentage as them. Someone with all rares unlocked couldn’t trade with anyone lower than them, because they already have all the uncommons, and likewise a person higher than them couldn’t trade for any rares because they already have them all.

It probably will get ruined by everyone, I just thought it was a cool idea but never put any serious thought into it. I guess I’m just an old timey halo fan that doesn’t like random chance.

Just a quick question before we move on with this conversation, are you a new halo fan? Like just plays halo 4 or 5. Because, and not to insult you, you sound like one. I liked how cosmetics worked in halo 3/reach. Wear you had to level up to gain armor or buy it.but instead of getting random and undetermined loot, you know what your getting.

lmao no, I’ve played since CE. I just don’t care about cosmetics. My brain filters it to Red vs Blue. I would honestly prefer everyone looked the same like in CE/2, because I never notice what anyone is wearing anyway. My point is, a trading system wouldn’t work because it would be exploited to hell.

For starters, good job dude, playing since halo ce. I started with ce too. But yeah, it probably would be exploited to hell and back, so if 343i would really want to put it in they would have to put a lot more rules and regulations in it (probably more than the actual making of the trading ability).
