Good game by the way and I will be playing it until I reach SR130…
I do not see any point in continuing with this game after SR130 because challenges and matchmaking will have no purpose, Campaign and Spartan-Ops will be complete, and custom games is broken and also require a network of friends to play with. My network of Halo friends are disappearing fast again (Reach dejavu) because they have been let down again and again and again and again with no rank system.
My entire Xbox Live Friends List was originally Halo 2/3 fans that all played 1000s of ranked games. About 20-30 friends were online playing Halo 3 every night for years. Now I am lucky if 8 people are online and this game has not even been out for a month.
I know I could encourage most of them to come back but I need substance. I need a working ranked playlist similiar to Halo 2/3. If I can win back 10 players and they can all win back 10 players and so on and so on then Halo will be huge game again and not just a one month show.
Can you please give me an update on the rank system and let me know if trading is allowed.
There will be a ranking system early next year, if I remember correctly. But I don’t believe it will be visible in-game. It’ll be viewable on Waypoint. (Sorry, I’m a bit fuzzy on the details with CRS). And for the trading, no. Trading threads are no longer allowed. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them.
Since the thread is about more than trading, I’ll leave it open, but if offers start being put up and whatnot…

No offense, but I just see that as a waste of money. Maybe just play the game for the sake of playing the game? Leveling up cannot seriously be the only reason you play the game, can it?
The Competitive Skill Rank (CSR) system. It’s not a whole lot of info, but it’s what I remember seeing, though I’m not sure how much more information about CSR is out there.

I have plenty of games that I can play for the sake of playing. Some of these games I can play for the sake of playing have rank systems. Traditionally Halo was the game of choice that I would invest my time in ranking up for no real reason and it was really good fun. It may be sad that I wish for a rank sticker and it may be sad that there ever was a rank sticker on previous Halo titles. The fact is it provided longevity to those game. Halo Reach and Halo 4 produce longevity by postponing what people want. (e.g. Keep playing and we will give you a rank system in the future). It is an empty statement that produces the effects of starvation in my stomach.

Thanks Schatten Blitze for the info.
“The CSR will appear post-launch in an update to Halo Waypoint and associated Smartglass applications”
“CSR will launch early next year when it’s ready”
My guess is that this is going to be same as Halo Reach BPR except it will be on Halo 4 and named CSR. It isn’t really what I was hoping for and I don’t think it will be enough to win back past Halo veterans.
I am currently SR80 so my guess is I will be SR130 early next year when I am ready. Hopefully the silent rank system will be released before I put my disc away in search for something more fulfilling and potentially it could save my love for Halo.
