Trade Sprint/Slide/Mantle for dev resources to be spent on Scarabs

Simple title.

For Halo 6, instead of spending time balancing and crafting sprint/slide/mantle mechanics, they should instead spend it on making Scarabs.

Scarabs haven’t seen an appearance since a mainline Halo game since Bungie.

Real simple solution is to not build the next halo with Sprint mechanics and instead focus on Scarab mechanics.

Weirdly personal dig at features that have nothing to do with the Scarab’s unfortunate absence, but yes, I would very much like the Scarabs back.

Those concepts are orthogonal. The absence of one doesn’t create the other

i am a fan of the new movement mechanics. i wouldn’t like to see sprint, slide or mantle disappear in future iterations.

i also think scarabs would probably be pretty good to hijack with 4 player campaign co op using Mark VI Mjolnir VR helmets to do some PVE.

It doesn’t add anything to the gameplay, really, at least nothing that slight increase in speed wouldn’t also accomplish.

Halo Infinite’s Sprint speed is like… 8% faster than Base. You can bump up the base speed to the Sprint speed, and the game plays perfectly. It’s the same deal with Clamber, because jump height has been nerfed since Halo Reach, and Clamber became a “necessity” to fix a created problem.

I’ve never understood the utility of Slide - with aim assist and magnetism the way it is in this game, the only thing it’s good for is getting into cover faster.

Im a big fan of the advanced movement. It makes the game feel more dynamic. What does that have to do with scarabs?

Name a map from Reach/4/5/infinite that is of comparable quality to something like guardian, sanctuary, lockout. You can’t, because they don’t exist, because of sprint.

I mean, to be fair, its not a simple title at all

slide makes melee attacks miss.

That said, the jump thing is a good point. been playing ce lately. Feel like it would benefit from clamber + actual jump height.
