I want to know what other players think it means to be a toxic player in halo.
Toxic players to me are #1 those who send mean messages after or over the mic during games if you aren’t doing well… #2 griefiers… Players who intentionally try and betray or betray others for what ever reason. Or they try and lose games by not contributing at all or dying on purpose.
Now I will say luckily I don’t encounter toxic players to often. Some try to lead you to believe it’s practically every game but that hasn’t been my experience.
Toxic players are those players who you don’t enjoy playing with, not because they are good or bad, but because they tend to engage in behavior that severely hinders your enjoyment of the game. Could range from excessive trash talk or verbal abuse in general to just not playing the game nowhere near the way it was intended.
I’ve been thinking of people who host social lobbies just to kill people who join. So much wasted potential with the custom browser. I am thankful for meeting a few forge buddies but for the most part it’s awful
Most of my customs browser experiences have been positive. Most toxic players just betray or go against the team (move the flag the wrong way intentionally).
Mine too, just seems like its the same old stuff on their. I wanna see people make their own maps instead of seeing Drag race, jenga, keep on driving, assassinations.

“The toxicity of our city, our city” … sorry but i had to other wise it would be a missed opportunity.
But seriously though i have to agree here with lethal on his post on the topic of toxic players.
Someone who sends hate messages for going bad or Salty
Betraying for Weapons or to troll
Greifing (throwing the match for Their team)
But from experience, Destiny 2 has among the worst toxic players, I get hate messages on that for using weapons that they don’t like or the way I play (I play Titan defensively)
And for it’s forums, you won’t survive
Team killing, sending rude messages, taking vehicles/ power weapons and running over to give them to the enemy team.
people who turn into children when you take the power weapon by trash talking or trying to betray you. If you re the best player on your team and they are the worst, ,this is fixable by killing them with it, if they kick you, then they will lose and that punishes them as well while also having you escape the game with the child.
Ghosts who splatter friendly marines and teammates, fixable with a gravity hammer to keep them in air until they tip or get out, where you can then destroy or take the ghost and be useful to your team
The people who cheat and then send foreign insults when you beat their team, somewhat fixed by mute/block/reporting them, less of a fix here as revealing truths brings toxic people to try to silence you
These are the top 3 worst for me and incidentally the most common. Good luck out there
I would have to go with intentional betrayals/suicides and maybe a rude message sent after a game.

There’s plenty of great maps out there as well as some creative game modes too. It’s just hard to get maps popular without having a large network.
Had a breakout match yesterday. 3 kills in the first round, immediately betrayed by teammate as soon as 2nd round starts.
There was a time where the enemy team invited me to party chat and they went “who the **** is this little ****** ?”
People like this don’t deserve to play.
Griefing is definitely up there for sure, but somebody tell me if my situation counts towards that. You’d mostly think playing objectives wrong, team killing, etc.
But I’ve had teammates throw Breakout matches to sit in the back of spawn, crouch and avoid any sort of combat and death, in hopes of receiving the Immortal medal, (finish a Breakout match with 0 deaths). Having that 3v4 situation on certain maps in Breakout can be brutal.
The intentions didn’t seem malicious, just a tad selfish and stupid. So I’m not sure if I should call it griefing or not.
to me its people who blame all there deaths on lag, constantly yell to 1 v 1 me after getting killed, and thinking that they are the best halo player without flaw
A toxic player to me is one that finds it neccessary to be an online tough guy and send messages during and post game. Also, one who stands there looking at the sky while shooting as if they can’t figure their controls out. And of course, the one that betrays me to get the sniper rifle only to die moments later after burning through 6 shots and missing them all.
Probably people who send messages after matches. I hadn’t played arena since 2017 and when I tried it out earlier in the week and I did bad, I got some toxic messages lol.

That’s what made me create this post. Was playing halo 2 and myself and a teammate were sniping. He felt I was stealing his kills (we were both in the sniping spot) so he killed me, tea bagged, and then died and are team started to lose. I quit because this happens far too often on MCC, I was frustrated with my team and just wanted one last solid game. I was in turn, banned for ten minutes.
