Are you new to the series or the genre?
In Halo 3, I think I used to get insulting messages somewhat frequently.
Well, even if that wasn’t as common as I remember, I know that people would frequently trash-talk in lobbies.
Even in Call of Duty, people would do that.
The word toxic is very overused in the modern day… and also nothing new on the internet, The inetnert is not a safe space no matter how hard you try to make it such… people will be assholes… you can’t stop that and you can’t stop them from coming on the internet so Buckle up and put your armor on, your shield will recharge and it will go down VERY OFTEN
it seems to have become more common, for some reason, perhaps because people no longer believe in disipline or something, i dunno i’m just a post boomer millenial maybe i’m just full of crap or maybe we’ve been letting assholes get away with things for too long withough consequences, which lead to worse conditions…
Sucks.
No kids, but I am an uncle to 2 and I got a random only fans request while we were playing .
I get it.
I haven’t noticed an increase in insults.
Rather I’ve noticed the opposite, but maybe that’s because I’m on PC, and I only see what people are saying (speech-to-text) and typing.
I’ve seen overall that insulting people tends to become more so the default response instead of responding sensibly. to dissagreements, not just here, but everwhere.
I’ve only had like three insults in Infinite.
The first person insulted me because of my username, the second person insulted the entire team for not being great at the game, and the third insulted me for not being a good gunner after they drove into a vehicle that had a player with a Gravity Hammer in it.
Well excuse me here but i have to say your birthday cake icon sucks… there my horrible joke/insult for the day… (why do you have that anyway?)
I don't know...
If you’re really asking, it’s from putting my birthday in my profile.
There doesn’t seem to be a way to get rid of it, though I have a feeling it won’t be there tomorrow.
Ok, instead of toxic, let me use counterproductive.
No. I just turned 40, I still own every Xbox that has released and have been playing games since Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Ultima Online, EverCrack and a few more. Still have my Apple II e and Kings Quest and a few other games. So yea, I am use to trolls and the dredges of society, and scum of life on these games. But I’m at a point that if you come at me personally, I’m finding a way to report you and get you banned.
I consider myself a xennial, if you have to put a name on it.
I get what you’re saying, the internet really is a hive of scum and villainy. BUT as for it being a safespace, I get that it is not. BUT contacting me personally through a system…I don’t know. Thankfully I’ve blocked all comms from coming in if I don’t know someone.
Hope you had a great holiday
