Tournament type playlist

I was thinking of new playlists and thought of a tournament type of playlist. Basically it would work something similar to EA’s EASHL in the NHL games if you’ve ever played that. The first 20 days or so of the month you play games, either by yourself or with a team. Based on your win/loss record you’re put into a division, sort of like Arena. After the 20 days or so is over, you enter a bracket(the size of the bracket is iffy. I feel like 4 rounds to win a “Championship” is too little for Halo, although works in sports games). It’s single elimination, so if you lose, you’re out and have to wait until the following month. The NHL series has divisions like Amateur, Pro and Elite and the playlist’s divisions can be based off of something similar to that, maybe 4 or 5 divisions to separate players. If you win your bracket, you’re the champion of that month and you receive maybe a medal in your Service Record, saying something like “Elite Division Champions” or something of the sort.

It’s just an idea that popped into my head that I thought could be interesting and fun to play as it’s something different then the 1-50 ranking system and the Arena in reach.

I am not however, disregarding the 1-50 system in H4 as I hope it does return for all Ranked Playlists.

Maybe it could look something like this:

Ranked
Social
Tournament
(Double EXP Weekend)
(DLC)
(Etc,)

*( ) for playlists that are not permanent.

I realize that this has almost 0% of happening, but hey, thought I’d throw the idea out there.

No feedback?

Idea like this are what’s going to bring Halo back on top. Unique(well unique to FPS’s) experiences in matchmaking.

I like the idea. It’s some new and would be good for Halo.

I like this idea. Sounds like it would be pretty fun. I remember they did something like this in Tiger Woods, where people would enter weekend tourneys.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it could be something fun too and definitely something different then what we’ve been accustomed to.
