Never buying another Halo/343/Microsoft product again ever. Spent $700 getting contollers, games, live accounts just to play MCC and this game is still broken and keeps getting worse as time goes on, not better. There’s literally no excuse for this. Shame on 343 and I will not be purchasing Halo 6, Halo Wars 2 or any other products. They do not keep their promises. They lied about Halo 5. And the actual Halo games that were fun are currently unplayable. Completely unacceptable and as a long time fan it takes a lot to get me to this point but I’m done. Wrote this while trying to find a game in MCC. Been over 20 minutes, still no game in multiple playlists.
I don’t know what their problem is. The MCC was made to allow 1-4 to be playable on Xbox One, to work in conjunction with 5 and eventually 6, but why the yoink doesn’t it work? I want to play CE matchmaking, but I can never find a game. I used to be able to, before 5 came out. Why is this any different? Is the matching system so broken that it can’t accommodate a smaller population? It’s just really frustrating. Fortunately I first played Halo because I was interested in the campaigns, and those are still perfectly playable.
Another issue is just playing with a friend. My friend and I, online, were trying to play Campaign together, but as soon as one of us would try to join the other, we got completely stuck waiting on the “joining player” notice. Maybe it will work next time we try, but this is just so yoinking lame. It’s like they’re not even listening to us.
Works fine for me in splitscreen, co-op, and multiplayer, I must be lucky.

Search times for me aren’t as quick as I’d like but I’m just greedy. Found matches in h2a and I’m currently finding matches in h3. This was all with in the last hour. Some people have their nat settings to closed or moderate and can’t connect and think its the games fault.

Hmmm… methinks they are using the same matchmaking servers and they just can’t handle the new code/workload.
I just tried this last weekend to get some Halo 1 4v4 via playing two friends on my box and playing team slayer. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there was someone specifically assigned at 343 just to -Yoink- with me.
-Every time signing in, there’s the ignorable “multiplayer is not allowed”
-Your family settings must be changed to play this game
-Player 3 can’t sign in to play matchmaking, so we go into custom have him sign, try to switch back to matchmaking and ERROR
-Any player tries to sign in after you signed in, but your profile is not synched (i.e. have names, pictures, ranks show up next to it) you will have to restart the game and start over
-Restarting the game does not work, so you have to switch to another game then back to reset
-Still doesn’t work, have to do a hard reset by unplugging the power cord and try MCC again with a clean slate
-Game crashes upon startup
-Please update your controller
-Games crashing in the middle right when it gets going
My god, we probably played 5-6 games in two and a half hours before not being able to play for good.
Try Action Sack, I have been able to get games in there today pretty quickly. Plus its Halo 2 3 and 4 maps with diverse gametypes.
I think 343 should have gotten sued for ruining MCC …I gaurentee this game would be one of the top played xbox games right now if it played right from the beginning.
Maybe because they killed it so halo 5 could be popular? idk but its a shame really that 343 could do something like this

Ironically Halo 5 is the lowest selling Halo yet. Ive yet to buy it, but if I do I’ll be buying it used. 343 doesn’t deserve your money after how they treated the Halo fanbase. No I’m not a jerk but I feel they don’t deserve anyone’s money since here we are over a year later and the network code is still a disaster. It’s a nightmare trying to get friends to join up on a single Xbox. Examples are downloading latest matchmaking data or the lovely family settings error. A fellow hint I found out just recently is if your in a party trying to find a game and if one your friends search engine doesn’t say connecting to server while everyone’s else does you’ll never find a game. Oh and who can’t forget the dreads double screen.

Yeah mysteriously it worked ok over the summer and then November matchmaking stopped working. Hmmmmmmm

Agreed. And they will not be getting a dime from me from here on out. They ruined Halo and Im not paying them anymore. Save your money on H5. It’s barely Halo.
