I would like to know why there is a total offline credit limit. I had my Xbox for a year previously and I wasn’t able to get a connection to Live until last week. I had been working so hard, spending long amounts of time in forging sessions and I was able to get to LT. Colonel grade 2 the night before I got a connection to Xbox live I was, like halfway through grade 2 and had almost 50,00 credits when I was given the choice to: either appear as a default spartan online, or: to forfeit 472,345 credits from my total credit limit. Since i wanted to show what my spartan looked like, I choose to forfeit my credits. What I didn’t know at the time was that it would derank me and i would lose all my armor and that I would be set back to sergeant grade 2. Thanks for making all of my hard work end up for nothing.
The reason it ranks you down to Sergeant is because people can simply mod their ranks to something high and take it online with no penalty.
It’s because you gain way more cR offline than online, and it isn’t fair to others. Also, it prevents hackers from hacking a bunch of cR into an account and bringing it online.
Don’t worry, you’ll get to Lt. Colonel in no time!

Yeah, but when you play offline, you get tons more cR than if you play online. Anyways, it’s just a precaution. There’s nothing you can do about it.
Don’t worry, though. Just play and you’ll get it all back eventually.

While you are not, there are some who are, and it would be difficult to search through each and every case. Heck, there was a mod out that would mod your credits to make you an Inheritor before the game was even officially released.
Trust me, it wont take very long to rank back up. You get tons of credits playing online games. Combine that with daily challenges and custom challenges you can set up her on Waypoint, and you’ll have your rank back in no time.

I hear you. I also understand you. I personally don’t care who, what, when, and how a person gets credits/achievements/etc offline. As long you get them that is all that matters. You have my support.
That sucks! I’m sorry that happened to you. At least everybody can see you’ve completed 42% of Reach’s Achievements. You worked hard for those and that deserves just as much credit as some rank.
Take this advice… grab a buddy and set out to earn your “Gods Must Be Strong” on split-screen. ← (Infinitely easier than solo)
It will be fun and you will unlock loads of other Achievements along that journey…
(keep in mind completions only count in levels beat in one sitting. Save-and-quits will not count.
Thats happened to me almost the same too, played for a year, got all the way up to commander, credit limit ruins me. Now, I played more, not making too big of a fuss, as I knew online gave more credits, then, Lost internet. I was saving up all of my credirs because I trying to get my stuff back, so I had about 200k credits, I play one forge offline, credit limit is reached.Thats horrible! I made most. If not all of those credits ONLINE! More work down the drain. Seriously, instead of destroying our profiles, they should look and see if its legit or not.
