Total control points are weird

Does it bother anyone else that, every time control zones respawn, 2 out of 3 are way closer to one base than the other? And it always seems to be the same pattern, so if you’re on cobra team you’re kinda SOL for the first 2 zone respawns, but if your team survives those zone spawns, the next 3 zone spawns you’re at an advantage.

It just makes the game mode feel very inconsistent to me. one minute my team can’t get near 2 of the 3 control zones, the next, we’re holding 2 control zones without too much trouble, and only have to focus a little to get the 3rd.
Its made a few losses feel really unfair, as well as making some wins feel undeserved.

Also! Occasionally it feels like one team has just captured the 3rd control zone and should have earned a point, but it lags juuust enough for someone to sneak in to one point and deny a team their point/victory which always gives me whiplash lol

I’m really enjoying the game mode and the map isn’t terrible (could use a few less trees and a few more sightlines imo) but I also feel like some of the point placement is unfair for whatever team doesn’t get a pair of capture zones on their lawn

I personally think that if one team has captured a zone, they should gain a point. If a team holds two zones, they earn points quicker.

That’s how the older games worked, and that should definitely be an available game mode! Hopefully it will be.

And I also agree with 2 of the zones being too close to each other. If only they were spread out a bit more

Yeah, Total Control feels really unbalanced.

IMO it would be better if teams acquired points per second that a zone was captured and maybe a bonus % per second was applied when all three were captured. Maybe just me though.

That’s just strongholds lol

I’m not of a fan of Total Control either. I prefer the typical domination style point control. Games can go by very quickly with the current game type.
