Yesterday, after installing the update for Halo 5, I booted it up and decided to first check out the new map, Torque. I loaded a custom Slayer game on it so that I could get an idea where weapons and power ups are on the map. My first time spawning on the map I look around and I’m like, “Hmm…pretty decent looking map, not bad. Some of the structures remind me a lot of other H5 maps, like Eden or Fathom… It’s rather poorly lit though…”. Then suddenly the sun comes up and passes over the map very quickly, and I’m like, “Hey, there’s the light! Wait… what the -Yoink- is going on?”, I turn around to face the window behind my spawn point and my jaw drops. I realize I’m on a huge space station, in a building that’s moving around a huge ring. Wow. I’m blown away. This is the coolest looking map I’ve ever seen in Halo! The light effect on the map as the building moves around the ring is so awesome, I love it! This is the kind of maps I want to see 343! Excellent work!
My only complaint about it can be easily fixed. I don’t like the current weapon placement on the map. For one, I don’t really like that there are two Gravity Hammers on the map. I’m not sure if this is just temporary to give people a chance to play with the Hammer or what, but usually one Hammer on a map causes more than enough chaos, especially with Rockets on top of that, lol. Also, I really don’t like the fact that the H2 BRs are on the map instead of H5 BRs. The H2 BR shouldn’t be used in ranked playlists because of it’s high bullet magnetism. I like the H2 BR and all, but I think it should be only used for Warzone and maybe some social playlists. The H5 BR was designed to be balanced with the other long range weapons, whereas The H2 BR was meant for Warzone, which is less skill/competition oriented. I’d say maybe just put one Hammer on the map, at bottom-middle, then replace the H2 BRs with H5 BRs, and put a couple Storm Rifles where the Hammers were, or something like that. I heard 343 wants this map to be used in competitions, but the current weapon placement is not set up properly for a competition. I hope this map gets a weapon placement update soon, but otherwise it looks amazing!
After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I started running around looking through all the windows, and I started to feel a little motion sickness or something from my Spartan’s movement plus the buildings movement around the ring, lol. @_@

Does it? I feel like the TTK and fire rate are much faster. And it feels like the H2 BR has a little more room for error, a little more bullet magnetism.

> So I boot up my Xbox One yesterday, and as usual, despite the fact that I have auto updates turned on and my console set to instant-on, it didn’t automatically download the update for Halo. So I waited for the update to finish and then started Halo. I decided to check out the new map, Torque, first. I had the same experience ^^ Honestly I just stood there and watches the stars fly by and how the station mooved through a stationary station with all those sound and light effects for like solid 5 minutes xD after that i kinda got sick due to the fast rotation x) but it’s indeed an awesome looking map!! Aside Riptide and Plaza my favorite one in terms if esthetic…

TTK is basically the same, the major difference is the Halo 2 BR has less spread than the Halo 5 BR; load up a custom and shoot a wall from the same distance with both and you’ll see it. All it really is, is a more accurate BR with a larger margin of error due to higher bullet magnetism and tighter spread. Which, does have obvious issues in Arena.
Oh and in the stars. there are two sets of innitials that act as constellations. They are the initials of the two daughter of a community member that died in an electrical fire. The spartans never walk alone pack and its emblem was also meant for them.

Yeah, that’s really cool, I thought I noticed some constellations, I’ll have to check it out again!

Nice, thanks for sharing that video! Yeah, the H2 BR has quite a lot of bullet magnetism it looks like. Not something that should be used in competitions that’s for sure, lol.

Yeah, I love all the stars and the nebulas and everything. Hahaha, same thing happened with me! XD I agree, Fathom/Riptide are great looking maps. My favorite map esthetically other than Torque is probably Truth.

Yeah I can’t look up or I’ll get motion sickness lol. Personally with the sun movement and shadows I feel it’s a bit distracting, would like the option to turn it off or something.

TTK on the H2 BR is actually a hair longer than the H5 BR but the bullet magnetism is greater (haven’t experienced this myself)

Yeah, it’s got a much greater room for error, so definitely shouldn’t be in any ranked Arena playlists. I’m cool with it being in social playlists though.
