Topics Being Locked Down

A lot of topics being closed down tonight due to “flags” community isnt even aloud to discuss halo on the forums anymore unless its all positive! Shame i thought this was a safe space where we can kindly voice our issues and interests about the halo franchise

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ve mainly flagged posts that are just blatantly hateful. We can discuss Halo negatively in a civil manner without having to resort to racism and hate speech.

Like I get it… Halo birthed Xbox Live, we were all toxic teenagers in 2005. But that doesn’t get a pass anymore.

Never seen any racism or hate on here. Sounds like you have some bias

It is mostly because the Mods don’t like people mentioning them and some people won’t stop putting derogatory insults instead of constructive criticisms in either the Original Post or the comments.

EDIT -
LITERALLY after I made this comment, another thread got locked because someone decided to make derogatory insults that would’ve started a flamewar had people not flagged the guy’s comments.

All I’m seeing is bias. I seen no insults either. All I seen was truth. Just because the truth upsets you doesn’t mean it’s an insult.

Everyone here should put on some big boy pants and stop whining. People have different opinions and thoughts than you. people also have frustrations that they should be allowed to vent.

There is a difference between topics being locked for just out right complaining and topics being locked for giving negative feed back.

Though I do agree some of the topics being locked shouldn’t be but others… yeah they earned the lock.

I mean if A topic is saying “this game is bad, will never be good, [censored second half]” it earned the lock, but if it is saying “hey this aspect of the game is bad, and here is a detailed explanation of why I think it is bad.” Then that shouldn’t be locked.

The difference is one explains why they think it is bad and the other says is bad delete.

A lot of the mods seem to target posts that cause flamewars of political discussion. The topic of the post I referenced was on Spartan Genders and how someone nearly started a flamewar.

EDIT -

So what your saying is. Every disenting opinion NEEDS feedback attached to it? With that logic most posts would be taken down because theres always one piece of the game that gets trashed on and there’s no feedback. This is why this post and everyone here is full of bias.

Human rights aren’t political but I see what you’re saying otherwise

The opinions of subjects outside of Halo shouldn’t exist in forum discussions specifically about Halo.

Also, I would argue that Halo Infinite is a step ahead of Halo 5 in terms of just Buff Dude and Thicc Girl. Because Halo Infinite allows you choose Body-Types with your voice actor being what determines your gender.

True. But it is a detail that is so miniscule. And besides, if someone wants to make a Femboy Spartan with Cat Ears in Halo Infinite; now players can because it is funny. Or a Buff-Girl Spartan.

Honestly, I am surprised that Halo 5 didn’t let you pick a regular Male/Female body-type or choose to have a Regular Female and Olympia-Vale Female body-type.

Customization is not miniscule. If it was you wouldnt see posts screaming from the roof tops about it. And clearly the body type debate is no small one.

See the problem with that cat boy thing or buff girl spartan is that you don’t realize that this comes from somewhere. It comes from outside of Halo. This is why politics get mentioned because the only reason why those things exsist in the first place IS because of politics.

This is why 343 should’ve stayed with what works because now the opened up a can of worms. Halo didn’t need cars ears. It just needed a male and female body type. Some cool looking armours and that’s it.

Kinda surprising it’s not the local God Emperor going on another locking/ unjust ban spree this time around.

STRONGLY DISAGREE
If anything, I am annoyed that the Cat Ears are not a universal attachments across the board. I want to wear my EVA Carved helmet with cat ears and my Yokai helmet with cat ears to look scary yet goofy!!

The game no longer looks like Halo but I guess you got your shiny new trinket to play with. Might as well make a clown suit as an armour. It would suit the game well as it’s become a circus

Two steps forward and one step back is what I’d say. Having voice options is great. Having body types for people that are more androgynous is good. Taking away the more steorypically feminine and masculine body types is where they took a step back. Those body types represented and appealed to a lot of people. I’m all for giving representation for more people, but you don’t have to take away the representation that already existed to do that.

What are you talking about?
The game now looks like Halo again! Which is one of the reasons that the Mark V Bravo has come back and why the mark VII is a hybrid of the Mark VI and Mark V Bravo designs!

Halo stopped looking like Halo in Halo 4 and Halo 5, when the new art talent that was outsourced decided to make things like Seeker, Goblin, Hunter, and about two dozen of the other armor designs.

There’s a difference between automatic closes and moderation closes.

When a topic is autoclosed it means there’s a mass amount of flags within the post itself, usually resulting from inappropriate or off color comments.

The problem lies with immaturity and bad actors. We all need to encourage better behavior and expect more from our peers. That and the mod team really needs some more freedom to take care of repeat offenders.

Well I mean, people tend to feel like a certain gender not because of how they look or sound. But because of gender identity, which cis and trans people have. That’s why you have people like David Riemer or Norah Vincent. Neither of whom were trans, but both strongly felt gender dysphoria.

Regardless of the above, people do have different body types. And the typical masculine and feminine body types were realistic. Especially for Spartan IVs augmented in adulthood. So having more typically masculine and feminine body types is realistic, and people want it and feel represented by it, so it shouldn’t have been taken away.

When I load up a match of Halo 5 I didn’t see any flaming heads. No cat ears. So fully detailed smaraui armour. No effects. No nothing.

What I did see were armours and that’s it. Some were ugly sure but a lot of them were Halo armours like blue team armours for example.

So yes Halo 5 and even Halo 4 look far more Halo than infinite ever will
