Geez! It’s been a long time…
How do I start?
Firstly, I feel the need to address the conflict-orientation of some portion of the player community here and elsewhere. Before I delve too deeply into what concerns us here, I must, I suppose, clue you folks in to what this thread is about (like, no duh… haha) and, moreover, clear the air, for your sake and mine, as to what sort of gamer I am, or, more accurately, have been.
We all know there are pros and cons to every little and/or big thing. Because nobody’s perfect, and because everyone’s a critic, we all experience some level of conflict, and especially here (since this is waypoint) with some aspect of the game(s) and the community from time to time.
There is a great schism in the halo community and, in general, the atmosphere surrounding Halo 5. Some simple mechanics have been added to Halo since Reach that a lot of people have strong opinions about. A lot of words are spent shaming the newer mechanics like ADS, stability, boost, etc. I get where these folks who shame the franchise and game developers are coming from, however, I very rarely have ever seen a genuinely good, creative idea come from these folks.
If these mechanics are failing the gameplay. If 343 are failing their consumers, what actually needs to happen in order for the franchise and the game to actually be “good?” I’m not accusing anyone of being wrong or in any way less than me. Criticism is okay as long as some practical solutions are offered. And please don’t tell me that they (343) don’t listen. If this portion of the community that, might I mention, is extremely vocal, would band together and share a unanimous problem-solution, I think someone might actually listen.
I don’t need to bore you anymore. And you don’t need to hear about my history and experience with Halo on Xbox to kind of get what I’m getting at. I can and will, however, tell you that I am not a “filthy casual” nor am I a “pro gamer.” I am not a “fanboy” and I am not a “hater.”
Now, with that said, we can compare and contrast, weighing changes we do or don’t see as “fit” for the next iteration of Halo. And that’s all fair and good. Unfortunately, however, there are some people who go to such extremes to suggest that, without saying too much, the game is either the greatest mess ever… or the opposite… it’s the best ever.
I expect that you are all so brilliant to know just exactly what this thread’s title means, because I know you guys are smart. Anyway, to sum it all up for you (ya know… just in case), the preceding should be taken as, quite simply my understanding that to see things as they are, one must learn to, I should hope, accommodate peaceably.
Sorry, I got bored writing. I’ve got so many things to do… but I will update later.

this thread dragged on and on with no point and nothing going on. I’m going to reply to the title with an assumption.

the playlists they will add after launch will appeal to all different types of gamers.

Haha yeah… I know. It was extremely early in the morning here and I had a lot on my plate. Still have not finished typing. I’m typing this all out in sizable chunks on my phone…
You’re right, though, and I will continue to update. Also, if you or anyone has a case, opinion or fact, to one-up me or correct me where I am mistaken, I am willing to do some cleanup.
I just don’t really have all that much will to keep editing my post if no one cares to read it. Which I admit is kind of silly given what I’ve said so far. Blah!
