So theres a stage presentation of a company member talking about what they did right and wrong with Halo 4. To their surprise, custom games came clearly out on top with 33% of the playtime. Matchmade team slayer was second with 15% or so and a few other scraps behind it. So here we are, still with no infection, KOTH or grifball. The list goes on.
Is this a REQ ploy? I think It’s working. Thankfully it will be a short term profit gain. No way this will help long term. But perhaps the old cow just needs it teats squeezed a lil’ more before the slaughter house.
Honestly, tell me who hasn’t enjoyed a crazy custom game? Who’s enjoyed some humorous gametypes over the standard matchmaking? Who likes building their maps, with confidence the custom options would be there to fit the idea without fail? I’m just very worried about this popular ‘back end’ of Halo. :’(

If you wanna look through my stats (of all Halo games), you’ll see that about 1% of my total games played were custom. I don’t see the draw (for myself).
I used to join organized custom game lobbies in Reach, they were fun.
But my favorite playlist was ALWAYS Big Team Battle.
Sure. But even if those gametypes come to Halo 5, which, I don’t know why they aren’t here already…but if they did, it still wouldn’t be the same.
See, Xbox One handles saves different than 360. We still don’t know the insides and outs of it like we do on the 360. So we can’t…umm…“change” gametypes like we could in Halo 3, Reach, and 4.
Even my group had a good run in Halo 4, but it was the lack of customizable options that drove us away. Now - forget the options, we don’t even have the gametypes to start with. Did it really have to go this competitive?
Customs were full of laughter, death or kill. I just hope that’s not lost.
Well, Microsoft only built 343i to milk the successful Halo franchise as much as possible until it eventually dies. Halo 4’s story was surprisingly good, but they stopped caring after that, hence Halo 5 story. Microtransactions only confirms this even more. The sad truth is Halo will never be as good as it used to be during Bungie’s time but it’s still pretty fun. I heard social playlists will be released in December update.

Might be some good to take away from all this. Also forge looks great but It’s going to pass away as soon as it releases without the chance to create unconventional infinity simulations.
Bring Halo back with a competitive bang? = Pipe dream.
