Top of the line bots

The title says it all. If 343 came out and said, “guys we lied those were actually other players you were fighting against get pranked” I would genuinely not be surprised. Sure, a little jittery in some cases but overall the bots barely differ to an actual player in movement and weapon handling. The way they hop around and dodge is so wonderful, the way they switch their weapons, throw their grenades, everything is so well done.

Now I know not everyone thinks this way and I know not everyone thinks they’re all that difficult cause they’re competent at the game, but bots in any other game pale in comparison to these bad boys. The only thing they’re missing to fully complete the experience is the ability to t-bag on your corpse after killing you.

Really the only critique of them I have so far is that the difference between Marine and ODST bots isn’t too apparent, and that maybe the 98% hit aim they have should be reserved for ODST and Spartan difficulties or just for Spartan difficulties.

I wouldn’t say they’re at player level, but they are a bit close. I’d say they seem more like players who enjoy doing silly, pointless things now and then or players that get distracted and have to put the controller down for a few seconds. I’ve noticed a few times where they just stand there.

And honestly they do feel mostly the same, but I feel like ODST bots group up a bit more. I’ve noticed they seem to travel in pairs or threes now and then, and even once saw them all moving together even a few seconds after initial contact.

I’d say the biggest issue is that they aim exceptionally well and they aren’t even at the highest difficulty, but they can be cheesed simply by camping with a ranged weapon and picking them off, as they don’t appear very concerned with sniping you.

If they would just be able to “pick a target” they’d be better and then fix that odd glitch when they aim away from you as they shoot at you. And then the moments they get stuck trying to jump on top of things.

The AI is pretty good except for the odd quirks although they’re targeting can be inhumanly good sometimes. I’ve popped around a corner only to immediately be perfect’d by a sidekick wielding AI, I had little time to react. In most circumstances you don’t see that, but sometimes they get freakishly good. I did notice the ODST bots will instantly melee regardless of whether you’re behind, or in front in melee range. Do not engage in a melee with them as they’ll probably kick your teeth in with instant rapid fire punches.

You gotta do damage before hitting them and usually you dont come out unscathed. I also hate how they respond to drop shields, they shouldn’t just run through it or completely lose site of you.

im not a fan of the drop shield thing either but it makes sense why but it makes it dull or course.

Yea I agree them “Bots” will smoke you very quickly!! I’m just waiting till one kills me gives me that good ole T-Bag an rubs them meatballs all over my forehead then I will feel like I’m back home LOL!

Has anyone else been smacked into the dirt by a bot with a grav hammer yet? Probably my favorite part of this whole experience.

Ngl, these bots are better than most of the people I’ve fought against XD. Besides some AI issues, they play well.

I haven’t yet, but I have seen one wielding a hammer chasing a teammate fleeing in terror down a corridor on the new map.
