I played this game straight through one day and LOVE it. Aside from not having the MC/Cortana interaction that I think is really unique, I think this game is one of the best in the series. I love how “the streets” are so dark and gloomy and it feels so cold. I actually felt like I was alone with danger around any corner while playing this game.
I want to point out that I have played every single Halo game but in the other games there was a certain way you had to go a certain way or to a specific WAY POINT through the game. In ODST, the levels were whichever you want to do first, or at all, and it made it more like a first person sandbox game almost. I couldn’t believe that my favorite shooter franchise was letting me dink around and not do anything like it was grand theft auto(without the clueless civilians).
Well, I know this was sort of long but I wanted to throw my thoughts out there about this game because I think that it was severely overlooked by people and given a bad rep just because it wasn’t just like the other Halo games.
