top 5 things random teammates do that piss me off

This applies to Arena and Slayer games since those are the main modes I play.

  1. Why do you not go for power weapons/power-ups at the start of the game? I mean, it even says in the intro “control power weapons to win”. So, where do you run off to in each map because I don’t have the time to watch your back while I rush to the power weapons/power ups. Or worse, pass by it without picking it up.

  2. Why do you not control power weapon/power-up spawns? There’s a timer on it. Do you expect someone else to go get it? Is controlling cafe in Plaza really that advantageous for you? I love it when the timer is at 10 seconds left, and 4 players on the other team has every corner covered at the spawn while my team are too busy doing a whole lot of nothing miles away. And then my team starts going after them after they grab it, that’s real smart.

  3. Why do you not talk when you have a mic? Is it really that hard? I’m not asking for call-outs 24/7, how about the human decency to say “ok” or “thank you”. I swear, the community is either too afraid to talk or are too full of themselves to feel they need to talk.

  4. Why don’t you juggle the objective? Do they not realize it’s faster than carrying it? You can also drop it if you have a better weapon than the flagnum or hoping to get a bomb melee. It also acts as a great way to put the other team in a panic and force them to make impulsive decisions. The only reason not to juggle is for going for stealth scores, but if that’s not the case, freaking juggle that -Yoink-!

  5. Why do you trail off from your team? It’s always the same deal, there’s 3 of us holding down one side of the map, and 1 guy off in the distance. And before you know it, there’s a big red “X” that pops up where he was. What are you trying to accomplish when the score is 49-48? Do you expect us too all follow you without even speaking to us?

I hear the same tired, excuse from the same people: “i just chill when I play.” Well, feel free to chill, but that doesn’t mean to play brain dead.
I relax too, but I also have common sense. Thankfully, things like these don’t happen in higher levels of play.

The mic thing needs to stop. Nobody is going to be forced to talk. If I don’t want to talk. With strangers then I don’t want to. But sometimes I do talk on the mic. ;D

I’m not forcing people to talk, I just don’t understand their inability to do a basic human thing that takes no effort. I talk to strangers because it’s human nature. Just a simple “ok” or “no” goes a long way, but people can’t grasp the idea.

You forgo to add one thing:

When the game is closing in teammates think it doesn’t matter still. They go around and keep dieing. While I’m sitting back patiently. Then we loose. D;

True. Kinda applies to #5, players trailing off while we’re controlling a part of the map. I’m like, “it’s 49-49, and you’re going to run off with a AR? Yup, we lost.

I agree with almost everything you listed, but I’d combine one and two, and juggling the objective doesn’t really bother me. I’d say:

  1. Why don’t you control power weapons at the start and throughout the game?
  2. Why won’t you use a mic to help coordinate?
  3. Why do you separate from the team?
  4. Why do you quit?
  5. Why do you betray?

1: Agree

2: Agree

3: Agree

4: That also gives away your location. With teammates being unreliable, I prefer stealth if everyone is going to be too derpy to protect me.

5: Because having kills stolen is annoying and I want to make a push. Seriously, if I do most of the work on a target then my teammate decides to jump in for the one shot, I’m going to do one of two things- either leave the area or kill my teammate if it happens too much.

I once had a game where I had 19 assists and 2 kills because of a teammate letting me do all the work before he decided to pop the one shot.

Better yet, if I have the bomb, come to me. I’ve posted up for a good 60-100 seconds before waiting for my team to push with me while I held onto the bomb, and they run the other way.

Or how about this? When you’re playing Slayer and its 49-49, and you’re on your mic and ask ‘okay, what do we do here guys?!’ Do not run into the enemy and die 2 seconds after you ask that.

Who cares about the mic thing. People just need to learn to play as a team. When you spawn, look for them. Know where they are and stay close to help. That’s all I want my team to do, I don’t care if they call out or juggle a flag… Just play as a team player instead of a Lone Wolf.

I sometimes trail off, but only when that seems to be what the rest of my team is doing. And for the other points, I don’t have a mike, meaning that if you talk to me I can almost guarantee that it is muted. I never pass up power weapons, and for objective game types I don’t juggle because I’m good at getting kills with the ball, and I am almost always trying to get stealth kills.

lol seriously? this is a team game.
I much prefer to go 2-19-2 (kills/assists/death) and win than 19-2-2 and lose.

#5. Yeah, when you see that one gamertag floating off the other direction, I always think “he’s dead”. Aaaand a few seconds later it turns into a red x. sigh at least it gives the rest of us an idea of where some of the enemy team is…

Won’t cause you to win, so you might as well go positive. Most of the randoms I get matched with are total derps, so I expect defeat. Like I said, if you know you’ll lose you might as well go positive. Besides, victory won’t come from standing around, if it comes at all.

If I go 2-19-2, then my teammates are probably all going positive while I’m breaking even. That usually means we’re winning.
Imma send you a friend invite, curious how you play. If you keep getting derp teammates, we should play sometime.

Sounds good to me, man.

My list:

  1. Teammates standing waiting for me to die before shooting
  2. Teammates waiting for me to remove enemy shields and 1shot them
  3. Teammates blocking doorways so i cant get through
  4. Teammates killing me for power weapons/vehicles

Its because online gaming has fostered a generation of anti-social humans.

sad how the spartan chatter more frequent than an actual human being. XD

1 word:
mouthbreathing.

but really. if you went through the cost and trouble to get and put on a headset, you should at least be able to help coordinate and figure out where the other team is. If you didn’t want to talk, why did you get a mic in the first place?

Juggle = Noon Strat.
Play the game.

For me it’s

  1. people that steal my assassinations
  2. people that don’t grab the ball or flag when is right next to them
  3. people that won’t go into my warthog when we could really use one
    4)bad drivers
    5)players that waste power weapons
