Top 5 things Halo 5G's needs

Highlight reels
In all the Halo games you’ve played, there has to be a moment that you got an
amazing kill but you were the only person to see it. The day I played Halo Reach,
I knew this game needed a 10-15 second highlight reel system that plays after your
matchmaking matches.

Ex: Halo narrator says “GAME OVER” after a Team Slayer match, screen fades to
black but instead of taking you back to the lobby it plays a 10-15 second
highlight clip(replay) of the best moments in the match. The system gives
you the option to skip by pressing the (Y) on your Xbox. You also have
the option to save these highlight reels.

Top Performance
The top performance player after a matchmaking match gets a gold star. These gold
stars are for bragging rights and they represent how many times you have been MVP. The more you have the cooler and more skilled you
seem. Everybody in the lobby will acknowledge that you got a golden star after
a match because the game will tell them so.

If you are the worst performance then you get one of your Golden stars taken away
from you. The amount of Stars you have is visible to other players and it is
near your gamertag. If you have 10 stars and you perform the worst, then that 10
stars will become 9 stars.

This is not a ranking system. Think of it like getting stickers on your homework when you were smaller. So you still have your main 1-etc rank visible. Stars are just to represent how many times you’ve won MVP

D-Pad functions
The D-Pad has never really had a function in Halo till Halo 4 but that function
sucked because of the ordnance drops. We need better functions for the D-Pad like
gears for your vehicles or requesting backup from your teammates that are too busy
talking in party chat. you could hit a button on the D-Pad that will tell your
team that they need to retreat because the other team is close to their 50 kills
or stuff like that.

Clans
We all know what clans are so I don’t need to say much. 343 just needs to add a functioning clan system that comes with the game. And it needs a clan playlist too which you can only enter with players of the same clan.

Rank and Social Playlist
This does not need any explanation at all because we’ve all heard it hundreds of times. we just need a playlist where we rank up based on skill and a separate playlist called “social” where we play matchmaking just for fun.

BONUS: Balance:
Without proper balance everything falls so I don’t need to explain that. Just make all the weapons fair.

I like these ones. I remember Halo 3 were it showed who the MVP was on the side of the scoreboard. I don’t know about the gold stars or the highlight reel though. D pad stuff and MVP are good.

Wow, I came in here expecting a future halos need to be exactly like halo 2 thread, but I’m pleasantly surprised and agree with everything here. A thank to you good sir.

well, the first three things would be sure some nice gimmicks, but in my opinion there are several way more important things that H5G needs not only to return Halo to former glory but also pushing it forward.

I really want to like all your ideas but…

> Highlight reels

Kinda useless when we have theatre, people already save the film when they did something memorable in a match.

> Top Performance

People would just farm these, remember Halo 3 achievement lobbies done by getting 8 people, selecting Portugese as your language and then heading into FFA?
Not to mention that sniper camping is a thing already, at least with ranked your rank is depended on how your entire team performs, if it is about you alone then there is just ranked FFA.

> D-Pad functions

People would just spam these, constantly hitting them to annoy other team mates.
A cool down timer for the next use could help but that would still lead to annoying spamming of it or late information.
Perhaps with an option to turn it off for yourself so it doesn’t show up on your screen, that way when you play with friends you can trust it and turn it off when playing with randoms.
Really doesn’t add anything on competitive level considering voice communication tends to be key anyway.

> Clans

So like Halo 2?

> Rank

We need rank based on skill but we need to make it so it adapts when it notices that player does not belong (bought accounts) instantly dropping that player down (a hint could be a sudden far dislocation of the account, if it was created in America and ended up in the UK then something is up) of course this would only occur if the player heavily under performs for his rank, I like the 1-50 system but I hated it when I got a noob that bought a 50 in my team.

> BONUS: Balance:
> Without proper balance everything falls so I don’t need to explain that. Just make all the weapons <mark>fear.</mark>

Hehe fear.
I agree completely and I really do not want the Halo 4 FG or Beam Rifle returning.

FINALLY!!! A Halo 5 wishlist that doesn’t include all the excessive two years old bashing on sprint and AAs! One that is different than all the rest! Something fresh! Somethings new! THANK YOU!!!
(Meh, it still has a little bite at PersOrds, but hey, I’ll take it.)

> Highlight reels

So, how exactly would this work? You’re best moment in the game? Anybody’s best moment? A multikill or spree? A snapshot? A multikill using only one shot? Close calls? Assassinations? ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES.

Unacceptable. I prefer cookies over gold stars.

But I’m all up for this. Sounds fun. Unfortunately, everybody in the chat is going to have to do endure me singing 'I’m the best… AROUND! NO ONE"S EVER GONNA TAKE ME DOWN. Because I’m da BEST–" when I earn one.

If you do something epic in halo on xbox one just say “Xbox record that” and it will save it, it could give halo a use for kinect, because get real, we wont be able to do our own asassination

> If you do something epic in halo on xbox one just say “Xbox record that” and it will save it, it could give halo a use for kinect, because get real, we wont be able to do our own asassination

Oh man…

Tries to assassinate
Crouches instead
Tries to stand up again
Starts spinning in circles
Tries to stop spinning
Chucks grenade

I could go on for days…

My one problem with this is, what if my friend (who doesn’t have his own account) comes over for a day and wants to try playing a game or two online by himself? And he completely fails? Do I instantly loose my rank and have to work my way all the way up there again?

That seems like complete bull to me.

I would prefer a dual-ranking system myself. One that is rewarded purely on skill and is able to go down as well as up, and one that indicates how many challenges, commendations, games, total kills, etc.for example, you could have someone who climbed to 50 very quickly, so he might only be a 2nd Lt. you could also have someone who plays a lot, tries to complete challenges, but isn’t as skilled, so me might have made General, but is still only around 25-30. That way there is something in there for everybody. the numeric would be the real bragging rights, but the people who put in the time would still have something to show for it. perhaps each ranking system could have certain cosmetic unlocks tied to each, as well as some tied to achievements.

Just use social playlist instead of ranked playlist. And the gold stars are not the ranking system itself. They are just a small side piece for cosmetic use only. You still have your main 1-50 or whatever it is

For the highlight reels, I’d hate having to leave the lobby with the set of players I got matched with to go to theater mode and then back. Theater mode is like the “Movie” and highlights are like the “Movie Trailer” and you don’t have to go to the movies yo see a trailer.

The gold stars are separate from your actual rank. They are just like getting stickers on a homework or something.there basically just there to add up.

Yes that is how the highlight reels will work. It will acknowledge your best moments and put them in the reel with some of the other players best kills, or etc

Is the FG the Fuel Rod Gun or…

You never played Halo 3 did you…
There was ranked and social, ranked was where the 1-50 system was in place, if your mate comes by just drop him in Social.
As for the second part, I have no problem with that.

> Is the FG the Fuel Rod Gun or…

Yes the Fuel Rod, the bullet travel times is just so ridiculously fast together with its high bullet magnetism.
