Top 5 invalid arguments when discussing Halo 4.

Hey, all. Just wanted to make another short thread discussing my confusion with the Halo community.
So, let’s make it short and to the point. Here are my “Top 5 invalid arguments” when discussing Halo 4.

 1. In the TEASER trailer, John had Zero-G thrusters, so there MUST be jetpacks/Armor abilities in Halo 4.

 2. John is heading towards a forerunner planet, therefore he can ABSOLUTELY NOT come into contact with other UNSC personnel/forces.

3.John is heading towards a forerunner planet, therefore Elites/Covenant species can ABSOLUTELY NOT appear in Halo 4.

 1. Halo 4 is a sequel to Halo 3, therefore ABSOLUTELY NO elements from Reach can be implemented.

 2. Because Halo 4 is a sequel to Halo 3, the Battle Rifle ABSOLUTELY MUST make a return in the EXACT SAME form of the Halo 3 Battle Rifle.

Seriously. These are about the most common invalid arguments I see used when discussing Halo 4. Do you agree that most of these are indeed invalid? Do you NOT
agree?

EDIT: It seems that quite a few people misunderstood this topic.
It’s about the POOR Arguments, not the GOOD arguments.

People who want halo 4 to be like h3 don’t want there to be nothing from reach we just think that halo 3 was better and we don’t want a reach repeat or h3/2 repeat for that matter and all halo 3 lovers wouldn’t mind a few things from reach

in my opinion, you are just to defenceive on your own point of veiw

@ 5: it’s built in the armor, and it is used for 0-G, not flying around like an idiot and snipe-camping

@ 4: probebly not, if the forerunners can make a huge–Yoink- ring that shoots lasers, then they probebly have some communication tech, and besides, I for one think it would be boring without the UNSC.
also, 343 has confirmed that the warthog will make an appearance, so if there is no-one to help gun, whats the point?

@ 3: very true, but that DOES NOT mean that 343 will leave the covanant to grow dust and spider webs

@ 2: not necessarily true, but most people will agree at this

@ 1: why do you people LOVE this thing so damn much? I for one would like to see something new, just because HALO 4 is a sequel to HALO 3, that doesn’t mean that HALO 4 will just be an upgraded version of HALO 3
like some people on this forum say
" I want Halo 4 to play like Halo 4, nothing else"

While that CAN be true, there are indeed some people that hate ALL aspects of it.

Uh. What???
I’m saying that these points and arguments are INVALID, not VALID and TRUE.

You completely missed the point of this post and proceeded to give reasons against it…fail.

 1. Halo 4 is a sequel to Halo 3, therefore ABSOLUTELY NO elements from Reach SHOULD be implemented.

 2. Because Halo 4 is a sequel to Halo 3, the Battle Rifle ABSOLUTELY MUST make a return, but why does it have to be the EXACT same thing?

…I love you.

No, but honestly, I agree with almost every single thing you say in that post. Probably the thing that I would disagree with is point 4. Although I do agree that it is possible that Elites/Covenant species appear in Halo 4, I do believe it to be unlikely at this point of time. Maybe in Halo 5 or 6.

This thread basically sums up my feelings when I read through these forums.

I never knew how to love until I met you, OP. Thanks for this.

While I’d like Halo to hearken back to its roots, Halo 4 should ultimately play like Halo 4. I welcome whatever 343 decides to bring back and introduce.

Seriously though, bring back the BR.

It’s like the Halo 2 days where people wanted the AR back.

No, bring back the Spectre! The most useful vehicle on any Halo.

It is sort of weird that after having the Covenant in all of the Halo games as the main attraction so far, and having two games as the only enemy to themselves, they’d be thrown out the window, leaving us with just UNSC, Flood, and some other enemy that pops out of nowhere.

It’s due to the massive story limitations that explaining the Covenant’s comeback is pretty much impossible without making it seem tacked on and blatant.

Such a shame.

Great post, man. Especially number 2. I mean, how does that argument even make sense? The reason Reach had that stuff was because it was a newer game, not because it was a prequel…

number 6; discussing the top 5 most invalid arguments.

except that, you know, that’s not an argument

You wish… :stuck_out_tongue:

To expand upon these points:

 1. The thrusters shown in the teaser trailer are standard equipment in the Mk. VI MJOLNIR armor. We just really haven’t seen them in use.

 2. Given the fact that 343 announced the new model Warthog via Forza 4, there must be some UNSC involvement, but given the lack of information, we do not know how much they will be involved.

 3. Given the lack of information, we have no idea what the Covenant/ Separatist involvement will be. Frankie, however, did state that Halo 4 probably won’t have much, if any, purple, indicating that the Covenant and ex-Covenant species won’t be as involved as past Halo games.

*4 & 3: Given where we are going, we will probably see more Forerunner technology than we will see UNSC or Covenant.

 1. Halo 4 is a numerical sequel to Halo 3, but also marks the beginning of a new trilogy being developed by a new studio. Also, given the fact that every single main Halo installment had changes and new features from the previous, Halo 4 MIGHT have features from Halo 3, but will probably be changed in one way or another.

 2. Even if the BR did return, it probably wouldn’t be the identical to how it was in Halo 3. For example, it’ll probably be actually balanced and whatever new mechanics will be acting upon it.
