Top 5 Halo CE Multiplayer Maps

Sitting here in quarantine, I’ve had the time to play Halo ce and yes on Mac. Playing countless games on the many maps is so fun and I would like to compare my top 5 list of maps with yours.

#5: Blood Gulch
I. So wait why is blood gulch not your first? Well after sometime it gets boring after playing it over and over. Don’t get me wrong it is a great map.
II. Blood Gulch is an amazing map and the iconic map of CE. The teleporters on the map are perfectly protected by hills, making it possible to exit without being worried of being sniped from the other tower. The tunnels that weave in and out of the secluded cave area are interesting. This makes you have to watch the tunnels constantly to stop the enemy from sneaking up and taking your flag.
III. Vehicles and weapons are distributed equally and balanced perfectly. The OS and AC rotate on the middle hill every time picked up

#4: Wizard
I. Wizard is pretty much a circle and is perfect for Race. I use it as one of my 1v1 areas. FFA Slayer can get a lil crazy in there and that’s how I like it. The teleporters on either side of the map make it easy to get from one place to another.
II. Flame Thrower pretty much overpowers everyone in the whole map because of the map’s size. I think that should’ve been taken out. Everything else is perfect though. Plasma Rifle and Needler balance out the Pistol and Assault Rifle
III. As I said this is one of my 1v1 areas. Hiding behind the cutoff barriers that contain OS and AC make it perfect for putting shots at your opponent from security. Its a small map and there’s a high and low ground.

#3: Ice Fields
I. Rather a large map, Ice Fields is one of those CTF maps you want to play with a full lobby. Bridges overlooking the one way pass between Red and Blue base makes an excellent place to snipe and set up shop. There is constant battle over the bridge and whoever controls it has a better chance of stopping the enemy from approaching their base.
II. It’s a very big map so you’ll find yourself hopping around the map. There are two teleporters for each team. Four total. The one from behind your base leads you to the one way trail. Walk across and you’ll find the next teleporter that leads you to the bridge and Sniper spawn.
III. I love this map and how there are creative ways to get your flag to your base. However this isn’t the only good mode to play this on. FFA Slayer and Oddball are very fun to play. Either it be Team or FFA Oddball it doesn’t matter. I prefer FFA though because of how many people play, with a full lobby. It makes the map seem smaller with more people to play with.
#2: Derelict
I. At first this was going to be my favorite but it turns out to be my 2nd. This is where I prefer to do my 1v1s. I hate how FFA Slayer makes you spawn with a Plasma Pistol but the map’s layout of weapons makes it easy to quickly switch it out. The Snipers and Shotguns are positioned perfectly in my opinion. Snipers on the high ground and Shotguns down low.
II. Key of this map in any mode is to get to the high ground. In King of the Hill (or in CE its just plain King) the hill will always be placed on the top center platform and never move. Once you made your way up there, you need to hide around the pillars to avoid being shot down.
III. I love the atmosphere and the outside of the windows is a planet which I do not know which. Could be anything. The surrounding space gives you a weird feeling that you’re trapped inside a ship that has no way of getting out.

#1: Battle Creek
I. I had a hard time between this and Derelict to which would be first place. Battle Creek is an outdoor canyon that holds two bases, red and blue that are separated by a little creek. Entrapped in the gorge, there is an arching piece of rock where a SPNKr is located. You can climb the top of the bases and see across the whole map. On each side of the map are ladders that lead up to a Sniper perch with a sniper.
II. CTF can get very, very crazy when the a team charges all at once and comes up through the underground tunnels and doorway. Grenades are thrown and you explode once you spawn. Shotguns are the most powerful weapon to use on this map. You are tight up with your opponent and you can blast them away with your Shotgun.
III. Overall this is my favorite map and I hope it returns to Infinite. This is also another 1v1 map too.

So guys there you have it. I would like to see your guys’ opinions, thoughts, and lists. But anyways, stay safe, wash your hands, and stay inside!

  2. Hang Em High

See i never liked Death Island because i kept falling off the cliff.

I love Battle Creek as well! I don’t play CE’s multiplayer often enough to list my favorite maps, but that one is always fun.

I like how it’s small and perfect for team objectives.

Definitely. Also, unlike some other Halo maps, it has an actual theme and isn’t just bland shapes and colors (I still love Combat Evolved to death, though).

I loved the themes and how each map has their own story.

Its hard to pick just 5 maps! I honestly love all of the CE maps. When you’re playing with a group of friends, each one of those maps can make for some of the best multiplayer experiences. Blood Gulch, Boarding Action, Longest, Prisoner, and Hang Em High were some of the more frequent maps I played back in the day.

Me too! Except for Mac it now lags like crazy bc it’s not meant for mac anymore. But it’s still great! I play every night. Hang Em High Is really good too. Idk y i didn’t add that one to the list. But you are correct. There are soo many great ones.

Unfortunately, I’m not really a multiplayer expert so it will instead be a list of the most interesting multiplayer maps in Halo CE.

  • Death Island - A island similar to the island seen in the mission Silent Cartographer open for exploration and treasure hunting. - Ice Fields - Like the name states, this map has the truly unique environmental factor of ice fields. - Sidewinder - Another map to slide around on some ice fields. - Chiron TL-34 - A map confusing map with a lot of teleporters - Boarding Action - Is is possible to space travel between the ships in this map which takes place in the space?

Death Island = falling off with lag

Another thing to do in Dead Island is to swim in the ocean.

Lol yea and pretty much walk on water. Level is the same throughout the whole thing

I’ve played mostly on the Xbox version, so no pc maps here.

#1: Battle Creek
My favorite map. I like the bases, the water, the ladders that lead up to the top, the rocket launcher in the center, the teleporters, everything. It’s the perfect map for me. It was recreated in Halo 2 and in Halo Reach.

#2: Blood Gulch
I just remember playing this one a lot, even before I learned that Red Vs. Blue was a thing. I liked the bases, how the map looked, the vehicles, and all those caves you could go to. It was recreated in Halo Reach’s Forge World in the Canyon area, which is awesome.

#3: Chill Out
I just liked the design. There was a lot of elevation to it, and it’s relatively small, so it’s good for 1vs1 matches. It was recreated in Halo 3, and that version is even better to me.

#4: Wizard
This map is a favorite of mine because of how small it is. It leads to chaotic matches in 4v4, but it’s the perfect map for 1v1 matches. It’s so simple with it being a small box, yet it’s so fun. This one was recreated in Halo 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary.

#5: Longest
This one is just great. It has elevation to it, and I like the two parallel hallways. Recreated in Halo 2, which I like more.

  1. Prisoner - Most back and forth slayer map. The map and spawn design naturally baits players to leave OS-3 to chase kills, and invites players spawning back wall to run up blue ramp to OS-2. This spawns players OS-3 for the back wall team and flips map control.

  2. Damnation - Most trick nades and skill gap for slayer.

  3. Battle Creek - Most versatile objective map.

  4. Derelict - Best FFA Map.

  5. Hang em High - Open map for team shooting and spawn killing, can grenade sniper to yourself from either base.

Derelict has become my favorite today
