Tool of Destruction, The Guardians?

I finished a game of WZFF last night, and was looking through the carnage report. I saw that my tool of destruction was a picture of a skull with a question mark on it, and was called “The Guardians”. Has anyone else seen this? Everyone else showed a weapon or vehicle. Was wondering what the game interpreted this as?

The Guardians in Halo traditionally were a means of explaining how you died when there was no player involved; typically being killed by elements in the map.

Halo 5 has since given guardians whole new meaning.

Killed by the Guardians is a way of saying someone died via a map element itself, not to be confused with hitting death barriers that are placed on the map. All maps have these areas that “auto-kill” Spartans and are usually due to getting out of the map into non-playable areas. Getting that as your tool of destruction is saying you were awarded kills when someone died via this auto-kill map function.

So you are the one who’s been killing us in Halo 2 and 3 when we tried too escape the map.

Now that I read Co2 OUTBR3AK’s response, I believe it’s when the round ends in WZFF and it auto-kills all of the AI enemies. Whoever shot those particular enemies most recently would get the kill for it, so I’m assuming they just shoot as many enemy AI as possible before the game kills them.

The Guardians before halo 5 was a halo phenomenon. Basically it was an explanation of how you killed yourself with the map. An example being the turrets in halo 3’s snowbound. Or forge by crushing yourself with big crates and blocks. Apparently it’s till in the game even though now we have actual Guardians in halo 5.

That may or may not be correct. I’m assuming it’s a scripted event in the gametype’s code to kill any remaining AI when a round ends. Due to how the game handles awarding kills, you do get awarded the kills when the game triggers them to die if you damaged them.

Yes I have! It happened to me too!

Where you using Jorge’s Chaingun that match? For some reason that weapon is glitched in the post game screen.
