Too much unnecessary armor + skins?

I understand the diversity 343 is trying to project with all the armor, emblems, and skins but I think it’s fine if they can take a break from them and put more time into creating maps and REQs like the M6D or the CE AR. Halo 3 and Reach had a good selection of armor for me and I didn’t have to worry about unlocking stuff I was never going to use. I’ve used the same helmet, armor, emblem, and skins since December and none of the armor in the recent updates has really enticed me. I do love the Halo 2 BR, it’s probably one of my favorite things that came out in 2016 for the gaming industry.

Honestly, all they really had to do was add in separate skins for armors as a separate customization piece so that we could choose, arms, visors, helmets, legs, chest, and shoulder pieces independently.

I wouldn’t call the same
armour with four different patterns on it “diverse”

diverse is the customisation options in H:R and H4

to diverse? bruh we get an armor set, and helmet…ooooo the choices

I’m talking about the number of armor sets and helmets, not the customization itself. A lot of effort put into a lot of gear that a lot of people don’t wear.

They need to stop making new armor and helmets as I think we are all a little overwhelmed.

That’s more like what we should have. They took a wrong step in customization.

Lots of people wear lots of different armour, and people are switching out constantly. More options is never a bad thing.

Basically what I’m trying to project. I’m sure many people are fine with the armor we have right now.

Very true. It seems like a necessity for 343 to keep adding though because a good chunk of each update is armor and skins. From my perspective I’m looking forward to more gametypes like this month’s update, rather than more armor.

My thoughts exactly.

There are a lot of Armors though, just stupid how we got like 10 of the same ones.

its all a scam to make people more likely to buy req packs with real money. why do you think they included useless “stands”. having a ton of stuff means unlocking it all will take serious investment of time making the microtransactions tempting for the people who like a quick fix. from the beginning 343 was banking on people buying req packs with real money. because there is no season pass or paid DLC 343 makes up the difference with req pack cash. why do you think the entire game is geared towards warzone? arena pays out terrible XP and RP compared to one quick game of warzone assault…

This. They’re basically making a flat pattern and applying it to a 3D model. Not worth me grinding for REQ points to unlock some stupid accent color that’s always white.

I still say Halo Reach had the best customisation options of any Halo game. Halo 4 just had meh design, and Halo 5 feels worse. I want to actually mix and match bits and pieces. Make the character my own, not a canned suit and optional helmet. Not to mention the colour palette leaves a lot to be desired. Halo 5 is great feeling game, but SPARTAN customisation is certainly one of it’s weakest points.

I’d really like to see more single-player/co-op content using custom SPARTAN’s too. One of my favourite things about Halo Reach was the persistent character across all game modes. I’ll forever be disappointed that Locke’s armour didn’t take this route.

Hopefully firefight or something in the future

They have too many armor variants, half the skins I don’t even like. I would have like a customization setup like H4 or H:R like other people said.

Im not against a lot of armor even though I never changed mine since release, but I do wish there where separate Req packs for weapons/vehicles and armor/skins.

I’m constantly unlocking armor and emblems, the emblems I don’t mind that much, but every time i’m opening a silver I always pray for a new weapon, a skin, or at least a vehicle that actually does something instead of having six skins and being useless to me. I really want to start unlocking more guns.

It’s all 99.999% junk to me and provides zero incentive to grind. Reach had the armour customization/unlocks done correctly. H5 has way too many bland armors/helmets that all look the same. Nothing special at all, I can’t tell a Legendary from a Default armor.

I have about 70 of the armor and helmets and only have used the 1 since I got it. I don’t think I will change it unless something out of the next 150 sets looks good! Definitely more armor than was needed.
