Too much Info!

Is it just me or is 343i releasing a lot of footage, news, and what have you. I would think we’d get one trailer and campaign footage this close to release but since there are two teams we’ve gotten about 5 or 6. I don’t know the specific numbers.
I want the game to be great with tons of surprises, but I’ll get on Halo Waypoint and there is new crap everywhere. And going dark is just something I can’t do. Curse you Internet!
One good thing I can hopefully assume is that there will be a ton of content if they are showing us this much.
Back when Halo 3 was getting hyped did they have this much footage, I wasn’t intelligent back then. What do you guys think?

Well, you could not watch any of it and you’d have plenty of surprises. But I understand how hard it actually is to go dark.

And most of the actual plot with the reclamation and the Domain and forerunner stuff is completely in the dark. It may seem like we’re getting a lot. But we know a lot less about the Campaign than we think.

I find it hilarious as just 2 days ago this was being called “the most secretive halo since halo 1”.

That said, I don’t feel like they’ve revealed all that much. Most these videos are showing mostly just combat. It doesn’t feel like h4 where they flat out told you like every weapon, every new enemy, and almost the entire gist of the plot before it was out. You at least have to go digging for what of that they’ve shown.

If it bothers you just go dark for a month. From what’s been released, we’ve only really seen parts of 2 levels, plus a heavily scripted version of a third. This is apparently out of something close to 20 levels (due to level 10 being supposedly halfway…we shall see).

There really aren’t many spoilers in any of the new Campaign gameplay. Gamespot even said that the missions didn’t seem to be that story driven besides a couple cutscenes but the Enemy Lines mission was basically going from point A to point B from the information I heard.

I get on my xbox “Oh hey, check out this awesome Cinematic.” or “Team Osiris footage analysis.”
I’m just like “Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh. Eh might as well.”

They tell next to nothing about the story that wasn’t already obvious. In addition, the footage we’ve seen is all from the same 2-3 levels and doesn’t seem to even cover the entirety of any of those levels.

For all I care, they could release every second of Campaign and every multiplayer map, and I wouldn’t have enough information until seeing Forge.

They must have something special to not release any info on Forge

Link?

We still don’t really know what’s going down as well as where it’s going. We’re getting little snippets without giving away any spoilers.

Not gonna link since I can’t link videos on mobile. Just go watch Ready Up Live’s Blue Team&Enemy Lines commentary.

You know I misinterpreted your message actually. I initially thought you meant that the game on the whole wasn’t very story driven but realized that you were referring to the footage that has been released. In which case I have read similar info.

You shouldn’t complain over things that are completely reliant on your own actions and reactions. That’s like me complaining that I’m not getting enough sleep even though I purposefully kept myself up playing Xbox until 5AM while completely aware I have to wake up at 10AM for work. You’re literally complaining that you don’t have enough self control…
Back on topic, everything I have seen in these videos are not really spoiling much information, the only new thing I have seen is where one of the 12 or 13 skulls are located and how to get to it… Everything else is mostly known, and none of it really spoils anything that isn’t just common knowledge at this point.

It’s not that hard to avoid getting to much info if you don’t want it. I have stopped watching any videos of anything. I regret watching the one of opening scenes already so I decided not to watch anymore.

How could you complain about playing too much Xbox. JK I’ll play too long sometimes.
Part of me wants to know so i can be more informed than my friends, and the other half is stated in the original post.

I would value my own personal enjoyment of the game over “knowing more ahead of time than my friends.” Knowing more than them is a temporary high, while experiencing the game with less knowledge of it will create longer lasting memories.

Good point, I’m sure I will get those memories regardless. Watching is not nearly as good as playing.
And it is also enjoyable to inform my friends of what I’ve learned about the game to get them excited so that they will buy the game and play with me.
I literally showed my friend a clip I got from the beta, and he was like “Wow that gun looks cool, I might get that game.” and since then he’s been pretty confident that he’s gonna get Halo 5.
