I like Halo 3, i wont deny it, but in the social games of MCC in BTB (the mode i always play) chooses a lot Halo 3. An example: I usually play 6-7 matches a day in MCC and 4-5 of those are just Halo 3, sometimes even in the same gametype and map, while the other matches are in Halo 2, 2A and 4, and almost never Halo CE. IF you are going to launch another MP update, please do it like this: Every two matches of a game change it to another, like this, Halo 3,Halo 3-Halo 2, Halo 2- Halo 4, Halo 4- Halo CE, Halo CE- Halo 2A, Halo 2A.
What i mean is that give the same priority to all the games in the social matches when you select all the games, because sometimes i need to disable Halo 3 from the browser to play the other ones
You realize if you don’t want H3 games in soical just don’t select H3 on your composer and problem solved. That is what makes the social composer so awesome. I usually only have H2A selected so I only get H2A games.

I feel like this is your only solution.
Because H3 is so popular, there are probably lots of people ONLY searching H3 - and this would be the most likely reason you see it pop up most often, even when you have ALL selected. It’s not necessarily due to any ‘weighting’ done by 343. The system, afaik, will try to find you the fastest match with your parameters selected, with some, but a limited amount of attempts to avoid repetition.
You’ve already found your solution, it seems - disable H3 when you don’t want it to come up, and enable it when you’re ready to play it again.
H3 is easily the most popular game in the collection as proven from back when MCC relied on voting and H3 won the vote the majority of the time and in the very rare case it didn’t win players quickly quit out the game. So if you have H3 selected in the composer odds are you will join it the most as that is what the majority is searching.
As annoying as it is, the fact that Halo 3 maps are selected more than those from the other Halo games, just proves how loved the game is even twelve years later from its original release.

That’s not how the matching works for the social game types. If you don’t want to play Halo 3, you simply deselect it as a searchable game type.
As others have said, you can simply deselect Halo 3 and you’re set. If you can’t find a game, and you’ve sat waiting for a while (sometimes it takes like 15 minutes…) you bet your darn keester people are searching only Halo 3.
For Infection recently, there were Halo 2: Anniversary maps added to matchmaking a few weeks ago. In attempt to only play these maps (I like keeping up to date with them, although I most likely played them when they were originally created back in 2015 (more likely than not)) I deselect everything except for Halo 2: Anniversary, after selecting “Infection” as the search parameter. Making any change makes it go from “Infection” to “Custom”, but I’ll only get Infection games.
As said above, it has worked and although queue times are long (because Halo 3 is overall the best, naturally, not heavily bias or anything (though it is overplayed and the lack of new H3 maps does and has gotten stale over the years)), I ultimately get what I set out to play.
You should have seen MCC before the “Match Composer” (mixtape matchmaking) was added. It was non-stop Halo 3… Halo 3 is my overall favourite Halo game (due to custom games, primarily) but I was even getting sick of getting the same old maps and gametypes over and over and over (and over and over and over and…)
Long story short: If you don’t want to play Halo 3, you don’t need to. Just deselect it and it begone, -Yoink!-. Unless you cannot (no matter what) find a game, Halo 3 will most likely be the solution (and cause lol) to that.
Ugh I can’t stand halo 3. I’m depressed that it is somehow so popular. Remove it as an option from your match composer settings. I play HCE only and it is wonderful.

I can never get into H2A anymore, It’s great but the lack of Maps & BTB maps drives me away from it which makes me only play H2C
like many already wrote, you just have to deselect h3… i’m searching most of the time for h:ce, h2, h2a and h3… most games i get are h3 games, but sometimes i get other games as well. and when i don’t want to play h3 anymore, i just deselect it…
h3 is actually the game i like the least, but i still like it and bc of the biggest playerbase i still keep playing it, bc sometimes i just want to find a quick match (although with the match composer, i also find games in the other halos fast)
Removing h3 from the composer selection is for sure the way to go for this, but I have to share the sentiment that it gets played a bit too much still, this is after they added the update which specifically was supposed to remove bias towards h3 in the matchmaking selection. But at this point, it really isn’t a huge inconvenience to just deselect it.

Not sure what update you mean.
Basically ever since the composer update, bias isn’t a thing anymore. It searches based on your selections, finding other people with those similar selections, and the fastest game to start.
So if more people have H3 selected, it’s more likely to get loaded up.
Before there was composer, there were weights to everything that made a big difference - not anymore.

> There are way more people playing Halo 3 anyway. It’s impossible to find a normal H2 match and CE Doubles only works certain hours of the day. Even if you do find games you’ll get matched with people that never played Halo in their life. So what’s the point? I’m forced to play H3.
