What I mean is the little kiddies who don’t get the vehicle they want so they trash the vehicle they think was stolen from them. I mean, COME ON YOU CRYBABIES… You are the child who throws away all their toys just because they can’t have one specific one.
To say it is selfish and immature is an understatement.
If Friendly Fire is off it should be off for ALL FRIENDLY TROOPS AND VEHICLES including turrets. I don’t think I go a single game where I don’t see some spoiled brat trying to destroy their own team vehicles. It ruins the game and you can’t even kick them half the time.
Sorry 343i, but you really need to get on top of this… FAST!
This must be your first Halo game, this has been going on for years.
Anyhow, my first BTB on Halo 4 launch night had this issue. I fired up Ragnarok and hopped in this cool looking mech thing only to have the banshee and one other player betray and destroy me before I could get to the creek.
If friendly fire was off for vehicles then all you had to do to stop a vehicle from being taken over is to throw a grenade on it. In fact friendly fire should be turned on for all MP games. If I had a rocket launcher and Im trying to save one of my teammates I should not be able to fire at his face and kill all the attackers that are around him/her.
I splattered a team mate yesterday. It was an accident though. I came around a corner and they just popped out in front of me. I had no time to even react before I hit them.
I was in a game where everyone seemed to have fun, even if they’re vehicle blew up, we were just horsing around. And I always do it at the end of Spartan Thorne when I have a Gravity Hammer and people are trying to get to the LZ and then I hunt down and destroy their vehicles, and it seems like they’re saying “AAAAHHHHHHHH!!! MANIAC WITH A HAMMER!!”
The worst is Dominion when you rush for rockets on Exile or the incineration cannon on Meltdown and then you hear the teammate behind you charging up his boltshot as he tries to betray you for it. Then he misses but chases you around for 45 secnds before finally killing you while you are in the midst of a battle with someone else then dies himself before getting the weapon and the other team gets it.
Amazing that these kids exist. And its freaking Dominion where rockets/cannons spawn every 30 seconds, but they just can’t possibly start a game without it.
I’ve been splattered and have splatter many times. I will rarely boot. The thing that pisses me off the most is when I’m deliberately kills by a team mate so they can have the sniper or rockets I have, and I don’t have the option to boot. Why do I only get this option when its splash damage and partially my fault, and never get it when its deliberate and they’re just going for my weapons or vehicle?
Honestly they should just turn FF on for all modes, I know a lot of people will grief over it but its the most fair way to sort this issue out - if someone betrays you, accidentally or deliberately then you should have the decision to boot or not.
I recently played Spartan Ops, we were on Ragnarock. I had commandeered a warthog and using a Marine as a gunner was happily splattering and mowing down the enemy. Within a few minutes I had a lead of around 20+ kills on my other team players. Two of them took offence to my progress ad decided to from then on, destroy every vehicle I commandeered during the game. They followed me about the map blatantly trying to impede me. Running back and forth across my field of view and grenadine my position, paying little notice to the actual game. Post game I for he first time ever reported them to live for unsportmanship behaviour. Drastic? Maybe. But this is now an every day occurrence.

This is also quite common on the next chapter where everyone has a mantis mech - I constantly see 2 or 3 guys in the mantis mechs rounding on the 4th destroying his mantis, forcing him to go and get a new respawned one. Shocking.

Only time I ever betray someone is when they stay in a base with the snipe on Ragnarok. I’m sorry you deserve to die if you’re doing that, there is no possible way to help you’re team from there, for the love of god just lift over to the side, better angles and just as much cover.

Is this all about the commendations and the “it’s my kill” attitude? Personally if I know I need to kill X amount of Grunts, I go and play Solo on easy. Quicker.
I have been betrayed many times especially in this manner. It has only given the option to boot once but it was clearly an accident!
The other day I jumped on the gauss hog gun and the driver hopped in and proceeded to drive me inside the building on Exile and refuse to move because I wouldn’t let his team mate on the gun. I managed to get 4 kills with it while he was trying to ruin my enjoyment manoeuvring it into the building, but It really annoyed me!
(a) be betrayed and sometimes not always having the option to boot the betrayer
Or is it more annoying to:
(b) accidentally betray someone and sometimes be booted for it, even though it was an accident.
If you think (a) is more annoying, then you would want an automatic boot option every time you get betrayed.
If you think (b) is more annoying, then you would want people to only be bootable if they have a history of team killing / friendly fire.
You can’t have it both ways. Personally, I think (a) is more annoying, so I think we should always have the option to boot. I wouldn’t boot unless I was betrayed intentionally.
Had a good one today.I jumped in the Mantis on ragnarock and some fellow team member decided to plasma charge me until I got taken out by an enemy. Our team lost the match by 50 points.

Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t he old system a two strike rule? At least that would contain betrayals to a min of 2 before being booted. And if they were innocent betrayals then it would teach you to be more careful in the future?
