I don’t even feel like aiming in this game, I just point in the general direction.
I hope that they’ll lower it in the June update.

Aim assist makes the game super easy. If you’ve never played the game before, the epic amount of aim assist will help you out-DMR pros. It just helps close the skill gap and make the game less appealing. I mean, it’s not like there’s demand for skill-based games nowadays, right? haha.
I agree, when i decided to play yesterday after my 6 week break i stood still while 2 enemies went past my reticle. Not even touching the controller the aim assist brought my reticle right to them as if GOD himself was giving me help. It’s way too high, its as if they brought it down to the point that a 10 month old can play it.
the aim assist in this game is like Chuck Norris
never fail lol

Proof that it’s not just your imagination.
Dude this game is such a joke especially with the weapons, you spawn with secondary weapons, and you spawn with armor abilities…

You can turn it off…

I would appreciate, if we could actually do that.
I find COD quite enjoyable and satisfying when I play it without aim assist.
I’ve noticed that with the Beam Rifle, it is easier to get someone with a Snapshot! than it is to Snipe them…
-Aim assist might be a little unbalanced there…

I’ve noticed that too.
I’ve recently played a Team Snipers match where the MVP was running with the Beam rifle through the entire match. That made me curious, so I tried it out myself. I’ve came to the conclusion that the beam rifle has an extremely huge hitbox.
1st- the game’s problems are not with auto aim (which is actually low, relative to the last few Halo games) but with bullet magnetism, which is way too high. You have to make that distinction.
2nd- At least it’s not anywhere near Halo 2 levels.
i dont mind aim assist. the margin of error on an analog stick is so incredibly small that precision is extremely difficult.
its the bullet magnetism that seems to be too high in this game.
as far as i know, aim assist won’t get your shot lined up. it just slows down the movement of your target giving you more control. while bullet magnetism will line up your shot for you.
Aim assist - okay
Bullet magnetism - RAW insane!
Conclusion:
Bullet magnetism < Aim Assist

You’re out of your mind if you think H4 has less aim-assist than any Halo besides Halo 2.

I didn’t say that, but the reticle-sticking is lower than in Reach and possibly even Halo 3 (though that could just be the loads of aim acceleration).
DMR has crazy aim assist. One time on Adrift I was using it and it snapped to a player running by that I didn’t even notice. It’s more of an aimbot honestly.
Not only Aim Assist, but the Bullet Magnetism needs a major reduction on every gun for this game to be enjoyable competitively.

No… you can’t.
If you think that switching “Auto-aim” off in your xbox profile settings will disable “Aim Assist”
(in Halo), which is a completely different game mechanic, you are sorely mistaken.
Just so you can get an idea of what the difference is between the two… here is an example:
GTA IV has Auto-aim.
Halo does not, and has never used it.
Although with the absurd amount of AA/BM, it does seem as though Halo 4 works on Auto-aim, perhaps a tad bit I suppose.
XD
Eh, it’s still not as bad as Pre-Patch Halo 2’s magnetism. That was absolutely insane. I could actually see the plasma pistol charge TURN!
