Too many human maps

Small nitpick in the sea of complaints about the progression system rn, but anyone feel like the diversity between forerunner, covenant and human themed maps was much better rounded in older Halo games?

Out of Infinite’s 10 maps, 7 are in a human setting. Halo’s iconic forerunner brutalism was a huge part of its multiplayer map identity and added a very monolithic, unearthly quality to them. Having almost the entire arena roster comprise techy human themed maps makes the game feel too close to bog-standard future shooters. Forerunner, banished and covenant maps definitely need to be the priority post-launch.

I agree. While I do like most of the maps (Recharge needs to be benched), we really need some diversity in the aesthetic.

This is one of my main complaints as well. They have all these cool locations in the lore they could be exploring, but all the maps feel kind of uninspired and “human-like” as you mentioned. Would love to see some covenant maps or even hell, Brute or Banished locations. I am coping and hoping that the “Heroes of Reach” theme is kind of what they are going for at launch, and maybe future seasons can be Covenant or other faction focused.

I feel the same way. I really love the Banished aesthetic, and Foreunner is always great. Nothing against the human stuff, but I just enjoy alien stuff more, and Halo has always drawn me because of that. I do hope we get more maps not in human feeling settings. Inside a Banished ship would be pretty cool.

I agree as well. The maps are okay, but could use some new aesthetics. I think (and am hopeful) that we should be getting new maps. It seems more of a when than an if, I suppose.
