So far most if not all of the maps in h4 are huge. Not saying there bad maps, but there needs to be some medium small size maps for doubles and team slayer ? Because I’m pretty sure longbow or exile would not make a good doubles map…
exile isn’t really all that big.
Haven is small
Adrift is medium
Exile and Longbow are big + 1 potential large remake
That leaves 5 completely size unknown maps hopefully 2 more small, 2 more medium and 1 more large. Giving us 3 small, 3 medium and 4 large. I think exile could work 4v4.
I think there should be one more smaller than haven
In Reach, (personally) the only good maps for Doubles are the forged ones. Synapse, Enclosed…
Haven and Adrift are small, and plus, we’ve only seen FOUR out of the ten maps.
So far we have seen Longbow, Haven, Adrift, Exile, and a yet to be revealed remake of a big map…
I just hope that isn’t it for BTB maps. I understand the game is mainly for smaller 4v4 scale fights but I love big team just as much as basic 4v4 playlists. I have a feeling that we will get 4 BTB maps and 6 small-medium sized maps before everything is said and done. Then each map pack will basically try to fill the gaps.
It’s been the same since Halo 2…
Put out the launch maps. Notice the lack of BTB maps. Fill in the gaps with DLC.

Haven and Adrift don’t seem that small to me.
Haven is easilly the size of Zealot (which also isn’t that big, because it only seemed big due to slow movement speed in Reach).
Adrift is probably about the size of Countdown or Reflection IMO.

Haven is quite small when you take into account the increase movement of sprint.
As for adrift apparently the outside areas make it much larger than it seems, I would guess that it is easily bigger than countdown, however again sprint makes it play smaller.
I dont find longbow, adrift and haven to be big maps, exile would be the big one but that isnt that big either. When i seen the first 3 maps i was a little disappointed because they weren’t big.

Zealot seems to be smaller (about the size of Halven IMO) if you increase the movement speed in custom games.
I see what you mean about Adrift possibly being slightly larger due to the outside areas, but if you’ve played on a forge version in Reach with about 110-120% movement speed, it isn’t that big.
We’ve seen 2 small/medium maps and 2 large maps. After this, its been confirmed than 1 large map will be returning(hoping for sandtrap)This is 5 of the 10 confirmed maps.
3 of these are large so far, so a potential 7 could be small. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and guess 6 small maps and 4 large maps, like said above. There will probably be 1 or 2 of these that are very small arena style, like guardian(the only arena-small map to ship with halo 3 except possibly snowbound). then, I’m guessing 2-3 of these will fit a good 4v4 or 5v5, like adrift. the rest will be somewhere inbetween a 2v2 and 4v4, like the Pit or lockout.
I think now with Sprint, maps will tend to be larger. While they may appear large, things like sprint will shrink the map perhaps?
I can’t remember where it was . . . during an interview, or something. Frankie said that the game played smoothly with 4v4’s on large maps like Exile. Because of the speed of gameplay, he said that there was always some kind of action going on, so . . .
let’s say, 4 teams of 2, or 4 teams of 3, square off on Exile or Longbow, I think the maps would still work.
I hate small maps love medium and like large maps.

I don’t think that the maps are that much larger than the ones in Halo 3 or Reach.
As I said in my post(s) above, Haven is easilly as big a Zealot or even Narrows, it’s just the slow movement speed in Reach made Zealot seem bigger because it took longer to get from one side to the other.
I’ve played Haven on forge, and the other 2. All of them make it diffucult to find people in a 2v2. With teams on aven you can control the top very well by watching all the stair cases. When we played with 4 people it took a long time to reach the score limit. Sprint won’t help at all, it’s just a speed boost.
I never liked small type maps from Halo 3 thus why I will say no to your request, be really egoist and only want map that are small/medium/large but in the Halo 4 size which mean bigger than in Halo 3.
:o)

Its a forged variant. It may not necessarily play like the real thing.
Did you play with halo 3 controls, aka higher jump hieght, faster base speed, 10%-15% more damage, etc? If you were playing with base reach physics and reach AAs, then its no wonder the game played much slower.
And a speed boost such as srint does help. You move around the map faster, and thus get back into the action faster.
I enjoy bigger maps
But that’s because I play mostly playlists that are bigger the 4v4
So for squad battle and BTB its good news
As for doubles playlist
Its going to be forged maps only with maybe a few no forged maps
Play Halo Reach my friend…
Then you would change the title of this thread to “THANKS for all the Big Maps”
It’ll probably be 4 big 6 small/medium
6: Haven and Adrift
4: Longbow, Exile, Waterworks/Blood Gulch, The remake
