Too Little, Too Late: Halo FAN FICTION, by G.Fiala

It may not be the Star we set ourselves to gander upon. But we are confined by the contamination: __

This is the Halo Universe to me:

The Covenant swept across the Galaxy followed by the flood. Likely they had lost their home world ages ago. If the flood had a more cognoscente mind, it would have been able to replicate the Covenant Technology. However it not physically adept for fine motor skills, nor for the cognitive function of tedious work.

The Flood however, like many other species in the Universe had a biology that made it’s sinews like metal. The Brutes for example, don’t use Energy shields like the Sangheili do to bludgen their opponents. They can crush mechanical suit with their brute strength. This allows them to breech atmospheres as the parasite within the corpse it is independent of survives while the body does not. This biology has a far longer half life than typical cells and has no nourishment requirements.

As the universe is filled with this growing darkness that seems to bombar them from the darkness, The Covenant fleeing it, have long ago lost their Privacy to the Gravemind.

The Covenant Harvested and collected living creatures from abroad so that they wouldn’t fuel the fire. Seeing this as too time consuming, they glassed planets. However it was not in their interest, and collecting species was always an initiative they hung to.

When they came upon the Grunts they realized their placidness was in fact intellect. They saved them, and found that they had so much time before the flood would assume them, that they could cultivate them on planets. The bread them, and fed them, armed them, trained them, raised them, as their own. The grunts would never see combat so long as they had the plasma pistol. They were omnipotent forces in all the cosmos, even the flood would find themselves snuffed by the Collaboration of the grunts zealous triggerfinger and the Radiant Son of the Covenant.

As they made their way through the cosmos they found certain creatures were adept, leading, cutting edge or prosperous and with time somehow creeping in on them, they focused their energy on militarizing these assets.

The Jackals were fed a gross Lie: they were told that they had been defeated by the Covenant, so that, like a monkey, they would not try to resist. They were bartered with, given prestigious apparel to dawn and demonstrate their valor and their dignity. Accuracy, “ammunition reserves” and quality of equipment reflected their true hierarchy, while it was in fact the Covenant that instituted this chain of command and lead them to believe that the Order of heir System was archaic. They were made to fight, and tricked, because they were too hot headed to negotiate with on fair terms.

When the Covenant found the Sangheili, it was like the greatest thing a Father could have wanted: a suitable inheritance for a suitable Benefactor. They dawned them as the of the Chosen of the God’s. They gave them fleets, and armies and with them they were able to Cultivate and harvest the Cosmos, of all it’s splendors. But nothing, could last, forever

~

The Night Came.

Page 2.

When the Flood stumbled upon the Humans, they were shooting themselves with firepower. They were not easy to negotiate with, and the imminant presence of the Flood was as the Oracle stated, at critical mass. All Rings were to be Activated, as it was in fact, The Apocalypse.

The Covenant whom had never met resistance before, was face to face with Humanity at the end of their rope. The Covenant had in recent years came upon the forerunner technology, ad through the Oracle were able to communicate as the device screened their actions and Deciphered their tones and speech patterns. It knew what they knew, and it was everything they ever wanted. The Universe was Lost _ The Cosmos.

As the Covenant harvested humans, and the last resources they could find, they were exterminating the fuel the flood would depend upon, and the knowledge the humans held along with their weapons.

_

Then on that fateful day,

The Flood Arrived.

The Covenant had saved every last moment, but nothing ad prepared them fro Humanity’s Anti-CivilWar Initiate, John 117. The Demon.

He desecrated the Sacred Ring with his filthy Footsteps and put an end to their hope. Their long journey came to a crashing halt, and hope died with it.

The Covenant knew the Truth, And The Prophet Regret was charged with leading the delusion that their home worlds were a necessary sacrifice to save Everything. They wouldn’t believe it. The Sangheili wanted to defend their home world to the last man, and when the stars were darkened and blotted out, they would die with honor on Sangheilios. The Civil wars never ended, _ they were confused and silenced by closing the Mouth of the heretics.

Mercy was a counselor to Truth, so that he wouldn’t be bombarded by the senate every time their was a delegation to make. And Truth, lead the High Charity, which was every bit as honorable as it’s name, to the Installation to await the armada for the last Breath.

That day never came.

~

Soon, everything was lost. And the heretic Arbitor, whose death was sanctified, to silence the heretics, once more, Destroyed High Charity, the Ring and aided the FLOOD gravemind find earth.

The Darkness Comes. The Night is over. There is No Morning. The Universe is At It’s End.

Page 3.

Now the Covevant Homeworld Sangheilios, may or may not be a Covenant installation. But it’s defenses far exceed earth’s. Earth’s were destroyed by the Covenant as they curiously stumbled upon them Recovering the Ark to The Ark.

Covenant technology however can’t be replicated by humans. The Sangheili armor can’t simply be adorned on a human figure. Shooting a Sangheili in the mouth is like shooting at a wall. Humans have been able to adapt it, but without penetration resistant armor, it’s not a vital asset. The humans pale in comparison to the Covenant technology and The Covenant Remnants at Sangheilios are currently, our best chance at defeating the Flood.

The Brute planet is a Hive for the Flood. The other Covenant Colonies are on their last strings, and their expiration date has already passed. There is no time left, and the Forerunners were never able to defeat the flood in the first place. Since their last activation of the rings, the parasite has re-assumed Critical Mass.

What we do have though: is several species of Sangheili with variant strengths. Spartans whom are not genetically polluted with various equipment and strengths

( Quintessence: 12-13 basics jump, speed, weapon handling, armor, recovery, zoom, handling etc,

Skills: selected secondary perks : jump, speed, weapon handling, fall, blast resistance etc,

Armor by piece: jump, weapon handling, speed, armor, shields, fall, sockets, boosts etc

and leadership: command gambits, platoon unit strategy gambits, scenario gambits etc

and of course our Artificial intelligence. )

What Cortana is Missing in her Calculations, is that the Flood are Far MORE Significant than Human-Human conflict and the struggle against the Covenant. She is an AI, that only detects what she is programmed to, and Social Sciences is not her Forte.

She may be very personable, and loaded with necessary information to win the war,
but even if I wanted John to have an Asexual love relationship void of sexuality with her,
she is not real, and John never became a Forerunner Zealot compatible with her after-all.

Or did he.

The final Fight, begins Now.
[Or did it]

End sequence. initiate retreat protocal.

Founded on the Solid building blocks of the Halo Universe.

I’m 29. I wrote the Book.

The Humans would have blew up the Earth too. The Covenant already harvetsed humans. is the lives of 10,000/14 000 000 000 so much more precious than 1000 or 10 000 unbiasedly selected ones? the technology would all survive the blast…

Now as far as, the Nightmare awakens. It clearly hasn’t been a short endeavor since the Brutes accumulated power. They are numerous. and their fortifications defy the principals of Brute ingenuity. it must have took time. How long did the Spirit of Fire wait before they decided that, “you know what. I guess we’re going to assault. We’re Lost.” [but I am just huffing] I assume the flood got there after High Charity was lost. ← that is exactly the kind of criteria to substantiate my position that I want to keep from the community at first.

Now I would love to talk about this with someone, because just adding another spiel, doesn’t exactly do the community justice.
{I am srry that I have nothing to add to that comment.}

I found this all very mystical in the way you presented the information.

Yeah. I am anticipating incredible AI and AI gambits for controlling platoons in Infinity.
I imagine a game too vastly dynamic to perceive as predictable.

I also thank you.
I have incredible hope

(I also preach immortality) lol
I design. AI is like geology.
