Halo is one of the most important game of Microsoft, so what probaly every E3 we see a little of halo being expected or unexpected, but in this year E3 we just saw Halo Wars 2 (Not saying that is a bad thing), but our expectation were so high of E3 having maybe a Halo 5 update trailer or even Halo 3 remaster that Microsoft left Halo fans hanging. I know we had the Halo Wars 2 Beta and trailer but it was expected. What you guys think on Halo E3?
I know I was expecting a new trailer for the Warzone Firefight update & maybe a short teaser trailer for Halo 6 just like with Halo 5 a few years ago, but instead all we got was a trailer Halo Wars 2 & nothing else.
I have never seen a part of Microsoft’s E3 confrense dedicated for Halo be so…small & short, it was very bizarre.
The things I was expecting
- Halo Wars 2 Campaign trailer - Halo Wars 2 Gameplay trailer - Some decent info on the TV series that isn’t “Were working on it” - A trailer for the biggest Halo 5 update - A Halo 6 tease just to see what direction they might go inHalo is meant to be Microsofts flag ship franchise yet they just don’t seem to have any interest in it what so ever nowadays.
Other things are revealed in other conventions as well, such as PAX, RTX, etc. Hell, the initial teaser trailer for Halo Wars 2 was shown at Gamescon last year. Just be patient, more will be revealed later on in the other events.
Hey, atleast we got to see some of Minecraft “The Friendly Update”
Shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
It’s not a halo year. Plus Scorpio opens up a new world of possibilities. H6 will be awesome. Btw the fact that ms introduced S and then pretty much nullified it with Scorpio demonstrates that they are terrible strategists and marketers.
I believe we should have got at least something about Halo 5 at E3

Well we have this console for half the price…does the same thing…and then we have this console for double the price…does the same thing BUT if you are one of the very small percentage of people who own a 4k, then you sir, are living the dream. And then of course, there’s the original…at it’s normal price…which does the same thing, just slightly slower with a bigger frame to throw around than it’s newest family members. Gotta get on that coke diet X1!
E3 is for more for new games. Halo had its spot last year. With new hardware coming out, taking a lot of the time, plus GOW which is this year’s pet for MS, I never expected to hear anything but Halo Wars 2.
I was a little surprised that we did not get a Halo 6 mention at E3 but realistically I think it will be next year before we see any Halo news.
Gamescom is not too far off though and Microsoft have saved some big announcements for it in recent years so you never know.
After the huge Halo year last year, I honestly didn’t expect anything other than Halo Wars 2 this year. TV show news at a stretch, but nothing really further. As others have said though, still some other cons to come so there may be other cools things still to be shown.
343i is probably still writing the story for Halo 6 and they didn’t have anything yet. Also they probably wanted to avoid another community backlash of “the trailer didn’t reflect the story of the game” or “Where is this scene in the game” like with Halo 5.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they announce H2A at E3 2014? That means it’s safe to assume that they will announce H3A, if there will be one, at E3 2017. This is all assuming I’m correct of course.
I wasn’t expecting anything.
