The kill times on all the weapons are too fast, especially on the AR and SMG. You are able to destroy BR/DMR/Pistol at mid rang with the SMG, and the AR is a contender at all ranges. I feels like they turned it into the utility weapon that the BR used to be, except you don’t need to hit a head shot to kill. It is way OP.
I don’t agree that the AR is a contender at all ranges. Unless they’re within 15 feet of me, I’ll switch to the Pistol.
Anyway, this is a beta and this can all and probably will be changed so don’t get too worried!
I know. I want to get this out there so it can be saved, I really want this game to be great, but right now it just isn’t. The problem with the AR is that It can zoom now and knock people out of scope. It shouldn’t gain pin-point accuracy when it zooms.
I know its a beta, and that’s all that is stopping me from calling this game terrible.
They could easily fix it too.
-raise the base movement speed
-raise the jump height
-raise the kill times
-lower the size of the guns on the screen (they cover A LOT of screen space)
-shrink the map sizes a little
-lower the AR power a lot
-Change the way that shields/sprint work. (right now if you start to sprint it restarts your shield recharge timer. They need to have it pause it instead).
-Zooming in with the AR/SMG should not make it pin-point accurate.
-you need to be able to strafe, you literally can’t right now
-there’s a lot more
Notice how I didn’t say any of the new stuff needs to go. I am willing to add new stuff to the Halo formula, they just can’t change it entirely. Hell, I like most of the new mechanics they introduced. Unlimited sprint is awesome, ground pound is surprisingly good. Clamber is fine even (they should still bring back the crouch jump though). And I really like the new Smart Scope.
I’m not trying to sound like I’m complaining just to complain. For the first time Halo feels like its a “I got shot first so it’s guaranteed death” game and I honestly cannot understand why people say they like this.
I really want this to be good, and it’s… just not.
