Tonight is why I avoid Halo 4 online.

Tonight has taught me exactly why the Halo 4 online is not worth raving about. Hell, it’s not even worth talking about. I’ve run into nearly every broken, exploitable, glitchy thing in the game tonight. I’ll run you down my 3 matches.

Match 1: I jumped online. 2 of my friends were playing, so I decided to join them. BTIS on Exile. That’s fine. I spawn in. I walked out of my base only to die to three DMRs before I had the chance to walk backwards. Alright. Figure it was a once-off. Spawn somwhere else. again, DMRs. Finally spawned in a decent place, started running around the map. Headshotting things and not getting kills. Decided it as probably a little lag. Put it beside me.
Then I picked up a Spartan Laser from someone. Because i’m an idiot and decided to shoot it in the lag, I shot it. 3 wasted shots. I carefully aim at a still person and take the last shot. Perfect hit. Then they run around the rock they were hiding behind, run out the other side and start shooting me before they fall over dead. Several seconds later, I get the points pop up on my screen. Laser Kill. Comeback kill. Spend the rest of the match dying horribly.

Match 2: Friends and I decide to play Regicide instead.Come across a guy Using Camo and Boltshot. Lots of those. In the match, there was 5 Accounts and 1 guest. Me and my two friends run around Haven with ARs, having a laugh. Then we all take our fight downstairs. One, two, Three boltshot kills. Then I watch the killcam. He is in camo, under some stairs. His Guest is in the same place, crouched with Promethean vision and another boltshot. Needless to say, we all formed a temporary alliance to wipe his -Yoink- off the face of the map, but it was annoying, particularly when his Boltshot beat my Scattershot.

Match 3: We moved to oddball. Best match of the night. Until one person on their team gets the oddball. Haven. He sprint at me, I backpedal and shoot. He punches me, I died. I’m fine with that. Then I respawn. I take two steps and see him hurtling across the map to melee me. I don’t mean that I spawned near him either. His punched lunged from the area in the middle of haven to the stairs on one side. Aside from that, It was a great match.

And this is all without mentioning the fact that last night I played Spartan ops with one of my friends. He hosted. We both lagged so hard we tried Kamikaze tactics instead. It’s also not mentioning the hacked Sniper I played against. It wasn’t a debatable hack either. He would flick between the Sniper and the DMR, no-scope headshot with the Sniper for the first half of the match. Then he starated shooting Binary rifle shots at people. From his Sniper. For the record, 4 shot clip Binary rifle is OP as -Yoink-.

TL;DR: I had Lag, Mass DMRing, Boltshot -Yoink–ishness and hacks in the last two night. Halo 4 has dissapointed me online.

Not even worth talking about, yet here you are talking about it.

The fact is the game has some minor and major flaws, and too many people are expecting 343 to have them fixed right now. Give it time and I’m sure they’ll do their best to balance it out and make it more fun for everyone. If you can’t handle the wait or are getting too frustrated, just go play something else.

You have already started to contradict yourself…

I’ve got to ask because I keep seeing it everywhere?

What does TL;DR mean?

Too Long; Didn’t Read.

so basically people killed you, and you didn’t like that, aside from this sniper glitch you’re talking about everything seems legit. 3 dmrs on you? what did you expect? whether its the pistol in CE br in halo 2 or 3 you’re going to die just as fast with 3 people on you. lag is lag, no surprise there. people camo camping with a bolt shot/sword or some other cheese weapon is always annoying, but its a trade off, if someones sitting in a corner all game they’re not going to be too effective besides annoying the hell out of a passer by every now and again.

I haven’t seen any hacks, but matchmaking is near impossible to enjoy with friends if they aren’t exactly the same skill as you are, since matchmaking only takes notice of the highest TS on the party.

I tried to play some games with my girlfriend who’s played bit of Reach and Halo 3, didn’t work in Halo 4, people I get matched against often play in a full party, are very skilled, needless to say games aren’t enjoyable for less skilled players. Same thing happens when playing with my friends who aren’t as good as me.

Matchmaking needs 3 fixes:
-Party vs Party, Randoms vs Randoms
-Ranked/Social playlists, TS doesn’t effect in social.
-Search preferences for good connection, your language and quickest.

Clearly OP has flawless logic.

It does NOT go by your highest TS. I am level 54, joined my sister/brother in law (who have -K/D and just kinda… aren’t the best… we’ll just leave it at that) and I was playing against people of their skill. It was rather apparent when I was getting about 30 kills a game while joking around the entire time…

I think it either goes by an average or possibly just the leader of the party.

It’s funny becayse I always used to lag badly in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, but I’ve never experienced lag in Halo 4. While for other people, it’s the other way around?
