tone down the lists, and negativity

im kind of sick of these long list of things we want in the game. can’t we just focus on small things, and give good justifications why they should be like this. making really long lists is just like saying:
for my birthday i want:
-I want a house
-a pony
-a 3000 inch tv
-halo 5 before it releases
-a halo 5 beta
-classic playlists
-descope
-puppies
-forge world
-theater in campaign
-no ordinance
-no sprint
-halo 3.5
-no armor abilities
-all the armor abilities
-the ability to listen to mlg pros complain about very small things
-everyone on Xbox live to be playing
-every copy of cod ghost destroyed

sorry to mean but its just ridiculous. this mentality that we can just say random things that we want, and bash the current version of halo all the time is destroying the community. 343 doesn’t want long lists, make indvicual ideas have their own post. that way people can comment on them, rather than just saying “this is good” or “this is bad” not only that, but we provide completely un helpful advice on important topics like sprint. threads about submitting ideas about trying to fix it are just turned into “I HATE SPRINT, RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” 343 knows some people don’t like it, they don’t need advice on how to take something out, a fricken chimp could do that.

wow look at me being negative. well anyways sorry for the rage, but being children about this is going to get us now where. anyone can bash or make lists, it takes intelligence to defend and argue an idea. were all smart here, lets show it.

I keep most of mine short, one of the rare breeds I suppose lol

Consumer opinions are unwanted here!

Obviously well thought out critiques of game play are more constructive, but at the same time is it really anything that the game developers don’t know?

I mean, I can say that sprint is bad because of what it does to map design and then write a three page post of how it affects game play in ways I don’t like. That’s not educating professional game developers on sprint. The only new information they’ve gotten from that is my opinion, the exact same thing you are saying doesn’t constitute a good post.

Ultimately the forums’ primary purpose is not for us to communicate with the devs. They are for us to converse with each other. Who are you or I to judge the conversation that someone else wants to have so long as it falls within the forum guidelines?

Not everyone has the incentive to make a well-presented topic that’ll likely end up abandoned a week or two later.

Why should people stop being negative? If a member of the community has issues with the current iteration of Halo, they have every right to express them in the manner they wish? After all, neither posting lists nor being negative is considered to be spam. Furthermore, if people were never negative nor presented the sum of their ideas on what should be improved, how would the future games ever improve upon the paths that the consumers wish?

Honestly, negative threads with lists are far more constructive than a post telling people to stop doing so.

People like myself are just very passionate we love halo and the universe and 343 done goofed with halo 4 and they made their money and if we don’t like it we have a right to complain about it

@CoDGhosts LOL, really, I know its abomination and all but really.
Any ways, I’m not sure if this counts as flaming. Yes I know I’m a repeat offender of lists, but they don’t really last for 2 days. I just post what I think should be in. Your own ideas are pretty good themselves, but at least one of them turned into a list as well. I don’t think many people would care about this thread though.( I should know because I made one like this.)

OP, as long as the lists are not like

> WE NEED THESE THINGS FOR HALO 5 TO DO WELL!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!
> -Blah!

But more like:

> These are things I would like to see make it into Halo 5
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.
> -Blah.

As you can see in my quotes, the top quote used “we”, which the person assumes everyone thinks the exact way he/she does. Used “Need”, assuming that it’ll be a game breaker for everyone, and that Halo will fail in flames of failure if it doesn’t have it, and that every single person will not buy the game. Normally these two words are things that make any list look like a list of BS, those lists make it feel as if we’re a bunch of demanding spoiled rotten kids, which makes the community as a whole look worse than COD.

Now in the bottom quote you see that I used “I”, which should give reader’s the idea that it’s my opinion, my thoughts, and I’m not trying to act as the voice of the community.
You also see I used “Like” instead of “Need”, this not only shows that I’m hoping for these features, but isn’t going to throw a complete fit if they don’t make it into the game. It shows that I’m also willing to compromise and for go a feature or more to make someone else happy.

Lists are good things for feedback, a well done list can give 343i a good idea of what the community would like to see in the game, and how they feel about current features/ideas.

As for being negative, I’m okay with people being a little negative as long as it’s not “Halo 5 is going to fail because blah blah blah and blah”, or “Halo is dying”, that’s negative and NOT FEEDBACK, IT’S SPAM, AND DOESN’T BELONG ON THESE FORUMS. But if a person is being negative because someone suggested an idea, but backs up his claim with reason, details, and ideas on what to do instead, or in case the idea is used, what adjustments needs to be done to make it work, or be more fitting of an idea for Halo. That’s feedback, it tells us why a person hates an idea, it tells us his opinion, and why his opinion is thus, it tells us counter ideas, and adjustments that can be done.

Also, if anyone here has noticed, I sometimes like to have little debate with people, and is willing to hear all sides of the debate out, as long as there’s no belittling of any side just because of their opinion. If you’re going to belittle someone either of the community or developers in your feedback, that’s not feedback, it’s unprofessional, and rude.

Here is some of the small things I would love to see make a return.
