my expectations are very low so i can’t be disappointed
I expect praise of the story, the openness of zeta Halo and the fun gameplay. This will then be followed by uproar of the lack of unlocks and missing features. The ladder will drown out the former, guaranteed.
Been doing that since I heard the disks were in the wild a week ago.
Not sure why it won’t release tonight. They’ve really taken a lot of the hype away how they’ve peppered the missing content news on us through the last few months. Now we can’t even replay missions???
I’m just going to sit back and watch for now. 343 on the way they have handled this game, I’m not expecting much at all with this campaign. I didn’t pre-order and seeing how Barbone this game actually is, it’s depressing that the campaign is all they have to offer with a couple of PvP maps most are burnt out on.
Doesn’t it release midnight?
Everything I’ve read has said there’s a specific time tomorrow that the game releases. And for people in the EU it’s like 6pm tomorrow. I don’t know though because they haven’t posted anything on here. And them having a whole website dedicated to Halo is pointless if you’re only going to post on Twitter or Reddit.
Wish it wasn’t released mid week because I work but oh well. But yes…it’s been 6 long years…
I fear that the open world aspects will suck and only drag the game down.
I’m still pissed it’s launching without level select. An incredibly basic item to have that has been in every Halo game and yet got left on the cutting room floor for some reason.
This is going to be extra annoying if there are any slogs in the campaign, personal preference wise.
It was just put on the back burner. Another core feature in the pipeline post purchase.

Post-launch you’ll be able to go through levels again. Until then you need to create new save files.
I do see the difficulty in level select on an open world game. So I guess it makes sense
I’m excited but I’m also afraid. Excited because Halo is back, afraid because I fear the storyline isn’t going to add up like the last two games.
I have too many questions right now and I know only one of them might get answered. 343 is about to use the most mysterious and secretive Halo Ring ever created. I’m also afraid 343 isn’t going to utilize this lore packed location correctly.
But we shall soon see!
Hope they fixed the Cutoms Games Area so we can save our mode settings!!

It drives me crazy that they dumped the old forums, dumped the old service records, and claimed the new waypoint would be the place to go for all things halo.
Maybe it will evolve to that, but I doubt it.
