Tom salta should do the music for halo 5.

IMO, his work on halo spartan assault feels much more unique and classic than the music in halo 4. It brings it’s own identity while remaining similar in style to the music of the original trilogy. Halo 4s music while good, was to cinematic and generic at times, and while these are not bad things, they are not the style of music halo is known for. I’m not saying we should scrap halo 4s music, it should be mixed it with the new track IMO, I’m just saying; GET TOM SALTA!

The best choice would be to have Neil Davidge, Kazuma Jinnouchi and Tom Salta compose the next game. They all are fantastic composers.

Kazuma Jinnouchi and Tom Salta should seize the roll as lead composers. I would like to continue having Neil Davidge, but he is at a disadvantage due to not being an actual 343i employee like how Kazuma is.

Also, the majority of the fan base seems to prefer Kazuma over Neil, just sayin’…

The majority of the fanbase also thought electronic=dubstep, at one point :stuck_out_tongue:

No, we don’t need “Classic” Halo music. The Reclaimer Trilogy should have it’s own style. Hell, I found that Spartan Assaults music all sounded pretty much the same and wasn’t very memorable.

His music is okay i think most of his music sound the same the music in Halo 4 fitted very well and Halo is going a more cinematic line now.

Keep who we have. It works.

This this this! I loved Halo 4’s music and I’d hate to see that style go away. The criticism I have with Halo 4’s music is that they should have had some classic Halo tunes, just in the new style. Hopefuly they do this for Halo One/5

Your misunderstanding my point. I want a mix of both. And just because it’s a new trilogy doesn’t mean it needs to have brand new music. Even Star Wars kept the same style in its second trilogy.

343i have known since the beginning how to reproduce Halo music.

There was a bulletin or article that said they had managed to do so for Halo 4 but they scrapped it because it was “too traditional” or something along those lines. I guess Spartan Assault is evidence that they acknowledge their mistakes…

343 should chill with that whole “too traditional” mentality. They can add what they want but as long as it works for the game. It shouldn’t matter if it’s too traditional, it’s about what we want not what they want.

> 343 should chill with that whole “too traditional” mentality. They can add what they want but as long as it works for the game.

Absolutely. The “too traditional” mindset just screams that 343i wanted things to be different just for the sake of being different.

> unique and classic

Isn’t that a contradiction? By being like the classic Halo themes it is by definition not unique.

Which is why I like Halo 4’s music the most. It was new and cinematic but retained the central themes of Halo: heroic, enigmatic, ancient.
