I think it’d be really useful for both regular players and people trying to find glitches/speedrunning tricks if we had the option to turn off the 5-death double checkpoint reset. It can helpful feature for getting out of a tough spot on Legendary, but oftentimes it reverts back to an even worse spot and we have to replay an annoying section for no reason.
From my experience and understanding, you are reset to the secondary checkpoint only if you die soon after respawning at the primary checkpoint multiple times consecutively. I’ve had a few spots where I’ve had a bunch of deaths but never been sent back to the secondary checkpoint.
So, the toggle isn’t necessary since you can avoid being sent back to the secondary checkpoint if you simply slow things down. If you are not able to slow things down because of a checkpoint that occurs right as a H2 Jackal Sniper spots you, then the safety net kicks in and sends you back to the secondary checkpoint.
