Today I was watching a video in Youtube about how to improve the strafe, since I could see that the movement of the Spartan in this game is so important. The guy said that a good option is to disable the “Toggle Crouch” option, so the Spartan can dodge more shots.
I didnt think about it because I use an Elite controller and got crouch on the left lever but now I wonder if disabling the Toggle Crouch would be still better for me. Can anyone confirm or deny it?
Thank you guys !

Pre-emptive teabagging doesn’t help you dodge shots. I’m not sure why kids think this. If you are going to strafe, be unpredictable. move left, move right, move right again, move left. Keep it mixed up. You can throw a crouch in there, but don’t depend on it. The idea is to throw your opponent’s shots off in a 1 v 1 situation, while keeping yours on the mark. Tapping the crouch button doesn’t do that. It’s predictable and I’m still going to four or five shot you 9 out of 10 times in an 1 v 1. I’m an average player and it doesn’t work on me. The players who are better than me (roughly half) aren’t going to get thrown off by it all.

What about crouching in the air? Doesnt that help?

Only if you are trying to jump to something close to out of reach.
Disabling toggle crouch is better as it allows you to do combo’s like the sprint>thrust>slide>jump or “flying”. You can also sprint>thrust>slide>jump>stabilize>groundpound for a lot of extra height.
I’d definitely do it if you’re looking to improve your game a bit.

thank u!
Toggle is for noobs… way less effective. It makes several maneuvers more difficult and clunkier to pull off as well.
I disabled toggle crouch only to do the combo sprint>slide>crouch>jump, because it is very cool, but I prefer it on. It’s is very clunky to hold down the button to stay crouched.
Sometimes I toggle, but lately I’ve been using untoggled. Untoggled helps with the crouch shooting ‘tactic’ of course it won’t help you if you’re fighting a halo 2 br, but untoggled is also fun for the thruster slide glitch.
It depends on the layout, the position of crouch button.
Yes; if you want to crouch strafe, disable toggle crouch.
I have it on if I’m playing WZFF so that I can stay crouched somewhere afar while firing with additional accuracy and improved recoil. However, I have it disabled while I play arena because I find having the toggle on hinders by ability to play competitively. So for me: “Toggle Off” for Arena/Warzone, and “Toggle On” for WWFF.

Sounds logic…
