I mean up until now its just been rumors based on the recent books, and his symbol in the trailer, but now I think thats defiitly confirmation.
Are there any other confirmations in text of him being in halo 4 or was this the first one?
Several weeks ago Frankie explicitly stated in an interview with GTTV that the Didact would play a role in Halo 4. I don’t think anyone was/is doubting that the Didact will make an appearance.
Between the books, terminals from halo 3 and CE anniversary, and stuff that’s been revealed, it’s pretty safe to say that the Didact is going to play a major role in halo 4. They’ve said that MC is going to have a new arch nemesis, I would bet that it’s the Didact.

Wasnt aware of that interview. Does anyone know if its Ur-Didact or Bornstellar-Didact thats in halo 4?

The Ur-Didact was supposedly killed by the master builder. The third forerunner book hasn’t come out to detail what is going to happen but it’ll probably be bornsteller.

Although other Forerunners, including the Librarian, believed that the Didact had been executed, he had in fact merely been left to die in a Flood-infested system by the Master Builder’s forces.[4]
