Just to get you an idea of what Halo is to me.
I first played Halo when I was 8 (I am 16 now). I was staying at a family friends and me and my brother got to sleep in the attic room which had an original Xbox in the room. We were told we could choose some games to play but we had to put them away. Halo immediately stood out as the game we wanted to play. That was the start of some of the best years of my childhood. It was the music, the feel of the game, the graphics, the sounds. EVERYTHING was perfect.
Now, lets look at Halo 4. Over the years some amazing things have been added to Halo. Mainly Firefight. Think how fun that is going to be in Halo 4 Tough they took it out and replaced is with spec ops from CoD. Firefight was GOOD! It was something you could play when you didn’t feel like playing online. It was also something people who didn’t have live could rank up and have fun with. I can’t wait to start up Halo 4 on release an feel that rush of nostalgia as the monk chants start :DDDD Tough luck for me though, they took out the Halo theme and replaced it with some movie trailer/CoD soundtrack. O man, I love that with Halo ANYONE can jump in and play cause we are all entitled to the same weapons :DDDDDD OH WAIT! NOW WE HAVE TO UNLOCK THEM LIKE IN COD!
What else are 343 going to take from us? I want to get something straight. I play Halo cause I long for the rush of nostalgia I get. I have more or less grown out of video games. I don’t play any other series. I literally only own and Xbox for Halo. Now this has effected me that they have taken out all this stuff (let me say now we won’t get a forge world map either) because I want to be reminded of my golden years as a little kid. Halo was what bought me and my brother together to actually do something co-operative for a few hours. I know it may sound petty to people who aren’t real Halo fans, but the thing I am going to miss is the classic Halo theme…
and now you realize after reading THIS, that if you wouldn’t’ve given Halo a chance in the 1st place you would’ve lost the best years of your life so far.

I am English. Realised has an “S” not a “Z” here. You are the ones spelling it wrong seeing as you CLAIM to speak English yet you spell a large amount of words like people.

That isn’t the point. Back then I was looking for a game to play. Now I am looking for Halo. I don’t play anything else. I know I sound childish but I just want a new campaign with every core element kept the same. I don’t want 343 butchering it like they are. I had faith in them in the beginning. I told COUNTLESS people “oh give them a chance” now they took out the theme song and everything else. The theme is what gives me the biggest rush. Granted the new theme took work, but I don’t want to hear that when I am -Yoinking!- -Yoink- up as the Chief. I want to here that same violin riff.

btw nostalgia is gone and wont come back,i just want it to play like previous games
A lot of you fail to understand my point. Yes OF-COURSE I am basing my opinions on what 343 have said. People are going “you might like the music”. No, no I won’t. I won’t like it because it is replacing the old music which is what I want to hear. it’s like asking for a Coke and getting a Pepsi. I think “it’s CoKe or nothing”. I don’t want a company like Microsoft to make me feel like I have to try and enjoy something rather than knowing I will like it. I want it to have the old theme, the non-CoD levelling etc.
Spartan Ops are story based co-op missions. They will be released weekly for months after Halo 4’s release, and will unfold. It will be structured like a TV series.
Soundtrack from CoD? Wow…
Don’t blind yourself with hate by making conclusions based off of a magazine, little solid info, and little gameplay. Just wait until you see some finalized things, and then you can start making conclusions. Maybe you should even rent the game, or borrow it, so you can really get a feel of what you’re getting. You may like it. And, a fan as you say, you don’t even want to play through the Chief’s new story?
kid, grow up, change is a part of life, you cannot hide from it so instead you should accaomdate it and adapt to it, if halo never changed then it would never compete on the gamming market because the gameplay gets stale and boring after time.

i’ve been playing halo since CE days, around 8 years old (i’m 19 comming up 20 now) i got an xbox lime green for my birthday and it came with halo CE, ods world much odsey (err …?), unreal torunement and metal gear solid, the game i played the most was halo and was also a big part of my child hood but what you’re asking for is nostalgia, you’re not going to get nostalgia in a new game, you have to go back and play the old stuff to get that great nostalgia feel.

No, trust me. I get a nostalgic rush from new Halo campaigns if they have the original theme in there. I got it when I played Halo 3 and I want it now. I know the new music could be good. But I don’t want it. I want the old music… I know I sound like a kid but it’s my inner little child that wants to play a new Halo game, not me.
The only music from the trilogy I really cared about were the main themes. They really pumped me up. The rest, not so much. I have halo 2’s OST just have it. I also have Reach’s and ODST’s because I legitametly liked their music.
And so Marty is gone. You cant blame 343i for that. He didnt become part of 343 so they have new people coming in. personally, ive never heard of neil until he was announced. As for sotaro, I liked his work on mgs4. Halo 4 is really stretching out for this kind of talent. And I liked what ive heard so far. The music from composing worlds was purely awesome, so was the vidoc music.
So Im not even the least bit worried about the music
As for the spartan ops thing. In spec ops you either play as a generic character or a character from some point in the campaign and play out a small section of the campaign. In spartan ops, we have a plot, a timeline, episodic storytelling, we play as our MP spartan and we play through multiple areas of the universe as a more realistic approach to being spec ops
