Why do you think people praise those who core the enemy base. If you want to farm kills go to arena, and not the new social. This was our only social game mode for months, so for people to go in aND ruin other peoples fun what’s wrong with you. If you want to get the kill commendations then just smurf or something. People blame 343 for this crap, but sometimes the player is to blame. Let the casuals have their fun.
This isn’t the players fault. They’re having their own fun, fulfilling their own goals. The only one who can stop it is 343.
I’m going to refer to my previous comment. Since this thread will never die…
These posts are starting to get annoying. I hate getting the crap kicked out of me as much as the next guy but if you’re getting killed at your home base, it’s because your team as a whole could not defend or capture bases. It blows my mind that this is even a topic. If you’re tired of getting killed QUIT. If you wont quit because of the Banhammer, then tough it out. You’re in that position for a reason. It’s up to you and your team to get out of it. If you happen to join the game and you’re put on the team stuck at their home base, sucks to be you. It could to happen to anyone. I’m sorry but when every other post is someone crying about how they’re getting “farmed” it gets old. You want to not get “farmed?” Go capture a base.

Were it so easy, people wouldn’t complain. But it’s not.
However, I agree. We’ve seen plenty of these threads, both on reddit and Waypoint and all those that do not farm or have been farmed agree that it sucks. But we’ve agreed a hundred times now and nothing changes or will change unless 343 does something about it, which is doubtful. Or they all get Achilles and bored out of it, I guess that might happen very soon as well.
Farming doesn’t work how they want it to in arena so this is just pointless.
Anyway, I have to agree with MyNameMatters, the problem is not 343 or the people farming, its the people who complaint about it, basically your complaining about losing. If anything the farmers are helping you, rather than end the game they are extending it giving you a time to work something out and fight back.
Farmers are supremely annoying and need to get a life… just my two cents.
I get it - it helps to up your commendations and what not to just destroy another team. And it’s the best place to do it with so many players available to shoot and confining them to that small space. But video games are meant to be fun for everyone playing. If an NFL team, or NBA team, is destroying their competition, usually, coaches will pull their starters and put in second-string guys to make it more fair once the game is out of reach. It’s called showing class and not being a -Yoink-.
Similarly, people in Halo need to do the same thing - if you’re destroying your competition in Warzone, just end the game and put the other team out of their misery rather than prolonging it and being a -Yoink-. You’re ruining other people’s enjoyment of a game you love (PS, that’s how you LOSE a community of players over time!).

Oh complaining about teams, that’s funny. It’s a social playlist, where you should be fine to soloque.
Im only one guy on my team in a SOCIAL gamemode. I get that it’s a priority to pick up a team in Arena, but this is a SOCIAL GAMEMODE, where people should not sweat. The least I’m asking is to mercy core us.

Yeah but ending it early makes the Achilles grind longer than it already is. The quickest way to do it will win over morals or the right thing to do

In theory, sure… they’re giving you a shot to comeback. But in practice typically when farming becomes an issue is you’ve got an extremely one-sided battle going on, with 12 players on one team all agreeing not to destroy the other team’s core until the last minute so as to improve commendations and what not. People who complain about it are people who just want to have fun with the game and not have that kind of crap happen (casual players). You play to win the game right? So win the game. Don’t prolong it to ruin someone else’s experience. Instead, just play more. You can get your commendations that way too.
Social playlists are for everyone. Social playlists are not just full of noobs.
Play ranked if you want close games.
Play social if you want to play an uneven match that will not affect your rank.
And I think warzone should be ranked.

This is the part I never understand, I don’t see how having people play the game longer ruins the fun?
I have been on the receiving end of a spawn trap, and I still had fun, I don’t mind losing, I don’t mind dying, and I enjoyed every kill I got. I especially enjoyed when I have seen the trap turned around by myself or by others.
Its like playing campaign on Legendary/Mythic you will have your back to the wall at times, just push back.

Is it though? I get what you’re saying but not sure I agree… two things…
-
The Achilles grind is a grind regardless of how you slice it, and playing any game mode will help you get there (Warzone being the best for this, without question). But you don’t need to farm to get there… just keep playing Warzone, it’s the same effect, and play more rounds as opposed to making rounds last longer. Additionally, make sure you have a full company of guys committed to helping you get there and actively playing.
-
You mentioned morals or the right thing to do… and I agree that for players who really, really, really want that Achilles armor, they’ll opt to farm over “the right thing to do.” And this is me talking to them, not you (not sure if you’re a farmer yourself or not!) but c’mon man. It’s a freaking aesthetic look that means positively NOTHING other than you play a -Yoink–ton of Halo. It contributes nothing new to the game, the experience, any of it, and after you get it you’ll likely not care anyway after the initial excitement wears off. Then in a year or two from now when there’s no longer active Halo players online, all of that work for that armor plate will mean positively nothing. So is it really worth killing yourself over to obtain it in the first place, and is it worth ruining other players’ Halo 5 experience to do so while you’re at it?
For the record, our Spartan Company is actively trying to get the armor sets. They look cool and show that your company achieved something together. But we’re also not going to resort to being -Yoinks!- to do it. Play the game, have fun… but don’t be a -Yoink-.

I think it was Michael Jordan who said it best, and I’m not going to get this quote exactly right but it’s how I’d respond to you… “Games are supposed to be fun. Winning is fun.”
If a game last a long time and is close, that’s fun. It’s competitive. Highs and lows. Excitement and the thrill of victory or suffering a crushing defeat that kills you inside a bit for how close it was.
On the other hand, farming, again, typically happens in very one-sided affairs. And maybe you’re the exception to the rule, but most players aren’t having any fun at all if they’re just getting slaughtered over and over again, waiting for the time to run out so their brutal defeat will finally be over. If you’re on the crushing team in that case, you should just finish the game. Stop the bleeding!

Social playlists are for everyone. There is no skill cap nor skill requirement to play. People have the right to play the game as they intend so long as they do not break the rules. There is no rule that I’m aware of that states you have to “relax” while playing Warzone. In fact I’m leaning more toward the opposite. That you should play the game to win and have fun. There is more than one way to win. I’m pretty sure the objective is to score 1000pts before the other team regardless of the strategy. How you go about it is up to you and you’re teammates. Seriously, if you don’t want to get trapped at your base, do something about it. If you play solo, hope to high heavens you get some solid teammates and try to party up after. I’m just tired of thread after thread of complaints. It’s not 343i’s fault. They shouldn’t have to do anything. Your team should defend bases, if not suffer the loss and whatever consequences that might be included.
But farming kills is fun

Then this is a reason to improve, I’m sorry but if your going to play online you have to be willing to take a beating, again and again and again, at times it will happen.
There is no ranked warzone(would be awesome if they were), so are you telling me you expect skilled players in a group should start away from the one playlist which uses AI?
If they do play warzone they have to play by “honor rules” because people don’t like their tactic?
A winning team can win by any means they like as long as it isn’t cheating, spawn trapping isn’t cheating. The same can be said for arena teams ensuring they always have the power weapons can dominate the other team, but that doesn’t mean they need to share.

Yep, they’re for everyone. Players can play the game as they please. You do play to win and have fun. My problem is, farmers don’t JUST win games, they win AND ruin other players’ experience of the game. Doing something about it is right on the money, but isn’t feasible most of the time games go that route. If you’re trapped and there are tanks stationed every which way outside of your base, you can be the best Halo player in the world, your not getting rid of all of them. I’d agree that it’s best to party up entering Warzone as such… gives you the best chance not to have this happen to you.
Again, I would akin it to how most NFL and NBA teams show mercy in a crazy blowout. Some don’t if they’re trying to send a message (for example, against a possible future playoff contender), but in Halo, that doesn’t apply, you’re only playing this squad of 12 enemy players once. If you’re getting destroyed, do your best to fight back, and that’s all your teammates can ask of you. Don’t quit as that’s the loser’s mentality. But hopefully, the opposing team won’t farm you, as that just makes them look like the real losers. Find something better to do with your time.
I go into war zone for the following reasons… #1 in hopes of stealing boss kills… #2 farm weapon/vehicle kills for commendations
if you go into a match solo or with only a few on you team and then get matched against a full team, you take the chance in the match going bad. I know farming isn’t fun because I have been since I play solo, but it isn’t going away. last match that was almost a farm killing I had teammates shooting walls and hiding in the corner. and there was only a half of the team attacking, and they didn’t have snipers or vehicles.
