To those who say we're impatient

A lot of you in the forums have been scolding many of the posts by saying we’re “impatient”, telling us to be happy with what we got. “You can still play the campaign” : Many of us don’t want to play the campaign. It is not unrealistic of us to expect everything to be working when we were lead to believe that it was. I’ve seen closed ALPHAS of games more playable than this. Don’t tell us we’re acting “spoiled” when we paid for a full product and MAYBE received half of it if I’m being generous. Add to that Microsoft’s initial claims to IGN and on their Twitter that “some” players are experiencing difficulties in “some regions” and that “If after a few minutes you’re unable to find a match, exit Matchmaking and then begin searching again.” And they haven’t even acknowledged the issue of uneven teams. If the matchmaking gets fixed soon, great, but that won’t do me any good when the only two games I’ve gotten into were 3v4 and 2v4. In summary, we’re not impatient, we simply expected to get what we were told we were getting, and those responsible are agonizingly down playing the issue. So forgive me if I’m frustrated and get down off of your high horse before you tell me I’m being ridiculous.

You don’t have to be happy. Just don’t overreact like a moron.

Exactly.

Consumers have the right to be upset, whether you think so or not, for receiving a poorly constructed product. If you bought anything new, a car, a jacket, sunglasses, etc. and they were not performing how you expected and were told they would, you would be upset.

This is no different, it doesn’t matter what the product is. I understand they (343i) were under some serious deadlines, but that does not excuse them from launching this game virtually unplayable with a ton of bugs.

No one overreacted until you had to resort to name calling, that is a over-reaction.

No, overreacting is when people say “OMG this is the worst launch in history. I’m gonna go buy a Playstation 4!” Those people are morons.

Fair enough, but the OP was not overreacting one bit.

The game is very flawed right now, regardless that is just launched. They weren’t advertising/promising a game with bugs and flaws come launch, were they?

agree 100%. I remember the days that when you bought a game, the game was complete. Yes since xbox live we have gotten patches for games over time to fix balance issues and other minor bugs/exploits, but when it comes to a game being completely unplayable there is no time to be patient.

This is simply ridiculous. And to top it all off they even had the nerve to have a launch party, showing that they knew this was a big release and big thing for Xbox and Halo. And here we are almost 24 hrs into release for some parts of the world and the only thing we know is that they are aware of the problem.
Is it to hard to ask for a completed game upon release. Or at the very least maybe a detailed explanation of the problem that way we fill comfortable in the fact that it is something they are able to fix in a certain amount of time. I mean it is making it worse by people waiting in lobbies and getting more anxious as time goes on. A simple “Hey, our servers are experiencing an incredible amount of overload. We did not prepare for such an influx in users so rapidly. We will be kicking everyone off matchmaking temporarily while we remedy the problem. Expect (insert number of hours here) before things are back up and running.”

People can say this is unrealistic for a company to do this but it really isn’t. I work for a web development company and if any of our sites experience problems we are expected to give the customer detailed information in the cause of the problem and the expected time of the fix. And then fix it ASAP. Just because -Yoink!- is a huge corporation it doesn’t change that customer service is a small thing that goes a long ways.

Well said.

Customer service, a dead quality within MANY of today’s companies.

Oh look another one of these threads again…

And that you for adding to its popularity by commenting, well done sir!

I remember buying Halo 2 on launch in 2004, coming home, popping in the game, and EVERYTHING WORKED PROPERLY. I was playing MP at 12:30am. That was 10 years ago. What has changed?

I got put into a game on Coagulation immediately as well.

Ahhhhh, the good old days!

I agree with everything above.

On a side note, I would be utterly embarrassed if I was 343i right now. This game has a ton of bugs not to mention a ridiculous amount of half–Yoinked!-/lazily done ‘features’ that look like they were not thought out before hand, i.e. changing teams in customs should not require 3 menus to accomplish.

They most definitely lost any chance of a sale for Halo 5 unless I see drastic change in this game in the near future.

hahaha, I love the changing teams comment. I was in a party with 8 other people last night and it took us a good 5 minutes to figure out how to change teams. Everyone was like "ummm, wasn’t it just LB / RB in Halo 3. How did this go from one button press to 3 different menus.

Lol yeah, seeing those sort of threads are hilarious, they obviously weren’t around for the diablo 3 and sim city launch… I’d dare to whisper Battlefield 4 too but those scars run deep.

I was around first hand for the BF4 launch, epic fail as well, and I complained about that also. Problem is that this is the Xbox Ones’s FLAGSHIP series, no excuses not to at least make it somewhat playable at launch.

63% has only taken, what 19 and a half hours, not unreasonable to be slightly annoyed i dont think…

63% what?

Why are people so stupid/ignorant on the forums?
