Option A with a few modifications. There are definitely things that are just not Halo at all (Sprint, Killcam, ADS), but it is still an exceptionally good game. I hope that 343 decide to do multiple Betas so they can test things like not having sprint (with changes to general movement speed) and other things so we can really get the game to where the community wants.
Look, I am all for additions to the game that improve gameplay
Forge, equipment, vehicle boarding, all added elements to halo which improved the over all enjoyability to the game.
what does sprint actually add to the game? nothing, what it does do however is wreck map control, cause maps to be blown out and made overly large, allows people to escape a situation they normally would not have been able to, lowers base movement speed so when you aren’t sprinting it feels like you are wearing cement boots, completely negates strafing because the base movement speed has been lowered
what does clamber add? nothing, however what it does do is remove the skill needed to preform crouch jumps to get to certain places
ground pound, what does it add? Its an interesting mechanic and an interesting addition if it can be balanced properly and it can be argued that it may and I say “ma” add a new element to situational awareness
What does smart scope add to the game? (imo nothing) It allows an already easily wielded weapon (The AR) to be wielded with even more ease giving a weapon which is meant for close-mid ranged combat mid-long range capability in short it alters weapon balance in a negative way
Slide is damn near pointless especially if the game will be on P2P connections
Again its been said numerous times old school halo fans are not nostalgic we are not afraid of change, we simply want changes that will improve halo not detract from it
Halo, does not need to try to attract the battlefield crowd or the COD crowd by adding elements made popular from their games
Halo needs to stay true to its roots
The more I play the more I feel like a Spartan and my “moves” during encounters evolve with the new abilities. Abilities are enabling the gameplay rather than slowing it down. So far not once have I felt anything like Armour Lock type slowing of gameplay. The controls take some getting used to but as you adapt the more you feel enabled to attack, move, counter attack or evade.
Why?? How?! Because of one Classic Halo CONCEPT, Risk Vs Reward. When hitting the wrong move at the wrong time you will be punished very similar to when throwing a Nade during a BR fight leaves the player vernable while doing the animation for the nade throw, The same concept is all over the place for Halo 5.

A. While changes were made, and it is a faster pace then previous entries. This change was necessary, its not crazy fast and the same mechanics are used when in a gun battle, such as the strafe. Its NOT like AVW were you are dashing and jumping every second. You cant take a 4v1 like cod. You still need team work. And if feels good man, it really does.

some people really like sprint and for good reasons too. I enjoy sprint being in the game but for halo 5 it still needs a few more tweaks. As for ADS and killcam I’m a little uncomfortable with them even after being open minded with them before. Still I’ve only played the game for hardly 3 hours so there is much more time to form an opinion. we should all wait till after the beta to tell 343 what we want.

> How is the ground pound, and smartscope? If you zoom in, can you just aim better, and does it feel different then the other Halo’s with feel.
definitely. Although i wouldn’t call smartscope broken yet, i feel it kinda ruins the halo vibe imo. I was pretty open minded about it at first too but the most important thing for a halo title is to feel like halo. Smartscope kinda ruins that i think.
A. It feels polished like Halo 3, but the risk/reward excitement reminds me of Halo 2 and 1. The Spartan abilities are impressively balanced for being this early. You can’t wield ground pound and smash wildly - you’re a sitting duck if you try it when seen. But when you land one unexpectedly it’s really satisfying.
I LOVE clamber. You can still make pro crouch jumps. But pro-jumps plus clamber are great.
