To those who claimed there was no bloom on Halo CE

^^^ this, bloom has ALWAYS been in Halo, and in Reach they decided to SHOW your bloom by making the reticule expand

Thank you for posting this. So many people seem to think just because bloom didn’t show on the crosshairs that meant there was no bloom.

Exactly, and so now the whiners are silenced

Derp. It’s nothing like Reach’s bloom.

And it has to do with whether you burst or hold the trigger down, not counter just for every shot.

Yes there is bloom but the spammer would win in battle in CE.

My point exactly, spammers have always been favoured

> Can you people quit posting that? That’s the PC port and Bungie fixed up the ‘bloom’ code in it. Play the xbox version and then you’ll see the difference; CE’s pistol is pinpoint accurate regardless of how you fire as long as you don’t hold the trigger down.

Please do your own research before hopping on YouTube and searching for videos.

Nope, there was no bloom in the other Halos. Bloom is the reticle going from this o to this O. There WAS bullet spread though, however it was significantly less than what is currently on Halo Reach. The theory that’s been spread among certain fanatical groups of Halo nerds is that the bullet spread being increased in Reach is because Six wasn’t as physically strong as Chief, being a Spartan III, so it wouldn’t make sense that he was as accurate as Chief. As far as bloom goes, they put it in Halo Reach so you could see where your bullet had a chance to go. Personally, I don’t mind bloom, I just wish the shot groups were a bit tighter. I go for skill kills, I don’t like it when I get a lucky shot kill. But anyways, that’s the difference between bloom and bullet spread.

“The more you knooooow” star with a rainbow trail flies across the screen

Oh and btw, the shorter term for Bullet Spread is BS. No, really, even Bungie referred to it in such a way.

It’s nothing like reach.

bloom didn’t matter in H1 tho, you fail to realize that the bloom was so minimal that a player could shoot as fast as your finger pulled the trigger while retaining 99% accuracy. So the fact that you posted that video is pointless. Bloom in H1 and Bloom in HR aren’t even comparable so don’t even try to.

Not really, this issue with the current aiming is still there.

Your claims are all empty until you can provide visual proof, which i will do tonight, i’ll make a video and post it showing “spread” on reach, bloom doesn’t matter really, it’s the spread you guys are all worried about, and since HCEA is the same code as the Xbox code, i should have no problem, i will compare all the games, including CE PC. You shall be SILENCED!

Visual proof? Go to Major Nelson game charts, theres your proof or are millions of people wrong? Also no Halo CEA is not the same programming, it be like comparing the engine from Rage to Doom which would be stupid.

I don’t think CE had bloom, it had either auto or single shot, if you shot single than there was no spread if you shot automatic than there was spread.

And NO, it’s not the same programming, they are using the same Engine they used for Reach.

I would imagine the problem is, if they remove the bloom from the pistol in CEA than you have a pistol with no spread in either single/auto shooting. This is the problem with using the Reach engine.

Ok i’ve uploaded the videos to my fileshare, my findings are…

ZB Magnum has the SAME spread and rate of fire as the Magnum in Anniversary playlists.

Vanilla Magnum is SIGNIFICANTLY more random, and if a spammer fired at full rate of fire only 1 bullet would hit it’s target.
Conclusion: The Reach engine is incapable of true Halo CE Zero Bloom. Yet can faithfully recreate the same Halo CE PC Multiplayer results

Which is why the majority of people prefer the Xbox version.

The thing that people want is no blooming crosshairs. Not no bloom all together.

No, people want NO bloom all together as CE did not have bloom, it had a spread, the spread on the pistol was dependent on whether you went single shot or auto.

Of course there is some crazy magnetism in CEA as well. Its so incontinent that its hard to take the game seriously. Poor design, poor testing, and just plain bad decisions all around.
