Patience it is coming but it will take time yes I want this too but look they can’t just make it overnight they need to get it right so just ease up a bit and be patient and before long it’ll be here
We don’t even have confirmation that we will be getting performance-based XP, depending on how patient we have to be to get a reasonable progression system for this game the retention of players might just plummet
You have to ask yourself how this system was given the OK if so many changes have already been made to fix the broken system.
I honestly don’t get the need to have performance based progression.
Inevitably the system ends up broken as it always caters to certain gametypes if you include medals, like Grifball. Which encourages spawn camping to grind medals.
Then you will have people just farming players in objective. The current “incentive” is per game so there is a reason to finish as soon as possible. Performance based would encourage players to hold off on winning to farm worse players.
It also doesn’t really reward skill because of skill based matchmaking, someone playing 1,900 Onyx in arena will probably get far less exp than someone who grinds Big Team.
Just seems like a terrible idea all round to me.
I mostly agree with Ken. If a system goes beyond a simple “win bonus” it will promote behaviour not in line with the objective turning a team game into an individual one.
We already see this effect in ranked with KD being the major factor in progression instead of win/loss, oddballs are left on the ground and no incentive to be the one to pull the flag to death race it as far as possible.
So far Infinite has been the first game where in social there are not (yet) many players camping power weapons or spawn killing. Very refreshing and let’s not give Spartans an incentive to do so.
Winning team bonus, and top player on each team bonus.
That way even if you’re on the losing team, you still have incentive to try your best your that bonus.
Making it only the top player also makes it so that the whole team doesn’t want to join in on a “farming session” like Ken said with grifball matches as only one player gets a flat bonus for being the lead.
Problem solved and still performance based.
If they had H3 ranks for fun, Reach score for spending on cosmetics outside BP and simple win bonus for BP it would make me happy enough.
I would like to earn some rewards outside the BP as well, but that had been reduced to purchase only. Besides H3 had simple win for xp and rank to increase and I liked that. Other than that the Reach/H5 system (without random loot boxes) would be a great way to earn cosmetics that aren’t tied to the BP.
What happens when people start finishing their Battle Pass and no longer get any rewards from playing further?
They still have weekly unlocks and monthly events it looks like. But I agree with what you’re saying/suggesting.
We all know this, the problem isn’t waiting, it’s that we shouldn’t HAVE to wait, because it never should have launched like this in the first place.
