I simply ask that you take an honest look at this video and tell me you don’t agree with the points made. I ask the Halo community, why do you continue to defend this company and game after having so many issues with quality control, communication and time management?
EDIT: Please watch through the full video and think before you comment. Thank you.
Am I not supposed to like the game?

I’m not saying that, please watch through the video before commenting. Thank you.
I am watching the video. All I’m saying is that despite the flaws, I like the game. I only say that because at times, you can be crucified for saying that sentence.
If we’re talking about “Respect and trust”, 343i almost factually lost that with Halo 4.
I’ll defend 343 when it’s needed, such as when someone says that Halo 5’s Forge sucks, or Halo 4’s story is terrible. I’ll definitely step up to defend what I’m adamantly convinced in.
However, I try not to be biased, I won’t defend a company like a one-sided fanboy, I’ll argue for what makes the most sense to me. So while I do defend 343 on some aspects, they’re far from perfect, and that video makes a lot of valid points.

Agreed and I’m legitimately happy that you are enjoying the product that you bought in spite of it’s flaws that you seem to be aware.
I am more targeting this at those among Halo 5 that seem to blindly claim Halo 5 is the best game ever with the best developer without taking a good hard look at the glaring problems facing the game and the patterns of 343 Industries as developers. Then after having seen all of these issues and facts, then I want to hear what people think regarding both the game and 343 Industries.
I WANT to believe 343 Industries can do better, I really do. I want to believe that they’ll fix the MCC and fix the issues with all their games, 5 too, but as it stands I personally can’t believe in 343 Industries anymore.
Even so, again I want to hear from others when they are presented with this information.
Guess this comment is strictly with the video:
- Batch Selling REQs - I agree. But 2 things: First of all, chances are it was low priority, therefore it would never be implemented in any speedy fashion when there are big things to fix. Secondly, Bravo can really only pass it on to the team. That doesn’t really guarantee they’ll fix it or even work on it. They can just say “We’ll think about it” or just a straight up “no”, and Bravo still did his part. He passed the info to the team. - File Browser - Same as above. - Secret Ranks - This was almost the same method Halo 3 used, and why people didn’t like Halo Reach and Halo 4 for not including. No Ranks means that a team of high ranked players can match a team of low rank players, and everything in between. It’s skewed and only leads to pubstomping, and social is only “social” for the high ranking player at the expense of low ranking player. What they should do is Rocket League’s method, opening the search parameters more and more if it has trouble. Even their Social matchmaking is based on MMR. - Tidal - He literally pointed to a quote where the Forge Team tried something different with the lighting in an attempt to optimize it, and it didn’t work, so they reverted it. - Infection - I don’t have any feelings one way or the other. How many maps did the other games have, considering they used maps as they were? - Firefight - I agree, I’m like the spokesperson for the problems with Firefight, but that’s a result of people continuously complaining that the Beta was way too easy (outside that one round). So they made sure they solved that complaint, they tried too hard. Mix that with the sheer number of enemies, weapons, vehicles, etc. There’s no wonder why glitches happen and things disappear. - Music glitch - Didn’t that happen in the Update prior to Firefight? - Theater - I agree

Thank you for taking time to watch the video and making a well thought out and respectful response.
In my personal opinion, the problems with theater mode in every Halo game they’ve made is one of their greatest sins (I’m weird I know). I’m personally a theater enthusiast in so many ways. I love playing a fun night of Halo with friends, then when it’s all done and we say our goodbyes for the night I would go into theater and save a collection of the best games or the funniest and the most badyoink clips to share on Bungie.net. I absolutely loved being able to collect films over the years and see how I’ve improved as well as remember unbelievable moments in full HD from any angle.
I also believe the problems with theater in recent games have dealt a huge blow to the Machinima community. I may not be skilled at making them myself (amateur at best) but I have seen amazing work made by a very dedicated and passionate group of people that made Halo into more than just a sci-fi shooter with an amazing multiplayer. They created entirely unique media that will be preserved up on YouTube for as long as it’s allowed to be up.
So to me, having such a broken theater mode is a horrendous crime. I’m still waiting on being able to permanently save and share my films in the MCC -Yoink!-!
I don’t even like the guy in the video, but it was pretty on point. And that’s just the Halo 5 related stuff.

Yeah it’s not really about the guy who made the video, just the points he makes.
I watched the whole video and I cant agree more. I personally think 343i is nothing more then a group of people working out of a garage in the back yard of some buddies house. I cringe every time theres an update in fear of what new bugs or gliches its got. On a more serious note though is I think many newer players don’t really have high standards of how a game should perform or play or be for that matter. Low standards = low quality games. Even if one likes the game they should always hold 343i to much higher standards then this. This game in my eyes is a disgrace to Halo itself. I know this may sound harsh but im just giving my opinion. And don’t take this as bashing 343i but more of a sign that they are truly in the dark when it comes to fixing even the smallest issues. The question is does 343i have the skill to make or fix issues that are in there games…?? If you can answer that question then the next question is should they be the ones making Halo games??
Zippy.

No problem with that. OP is talking about the blind defence you mentioned.
E.g
“Halo 5s story wasn’t good and ignored Halo 4”-Examples/reasoning/evidence following this statement. For example, the “fanboy” blind defence would be “Making a long campaign is hard, 343 put all their effort into the ‘amazing’ multiplayer and didn’t have time for the campaign”. Thus ignoring points raised by the poster. This is the sort of defending OP is talking about. Defending against obviously wrong statements such as “forge is bad” as you stated is normal. However ignoring a well prepared arguement and saying things like “don’t like the game don’t play it, halo 5 is da best” is not.
This is is just to clear up any sort of misunderstanding that can come across from this post.

This is what I like to see. To add to this, don’t forget about the leadership at 343. I’ve read many convincing articles that make me think it’s the leadership (forget the specific names, don’t think I can say them anyway) to blame. However, that could be speculation so we should focus on hard evidence.
Sorry OP, can’t be bothered watching the video but the general vibe I’m getting is that this guy is losing faith because of a few, mostly minor glitches and small features (as well as some legitimate concerns, theartre, file browser, firefight etc). These glitches could probably be fixed next update, even if they aren’t they don’t seem to be gamebreaking. But that’s just my perspective, and once again I didn’t exactly watch the video. So this can be considered an “invalid opinion” if you really want it to be.

Thank you, I think what a lot of blind fanboys don’t seem to understand is for a company or franchise to ever improve, it needs it’s faults pointed out and addressed accordingly. Thank you for understanding this.

I would also like a file share for the mcc if a fix will ever come out
Facts and truth are inconvenient. So expect censorship and cognitive dissonance.
I do disagree with some things related to the video though.
First, Theater is losing relevancy with Xbox One’s new capabilities. There’s no point in 343i making a Theater mode when the Xbox One itself can record gameplay for any game. Instead Microsoft should focus on expanding on that functionality.
Second, social has always had hidden ranks.
If only 343 lauch a game that have splitscreen
I am in no way a 343 fanboy but at times I will be the one defending them. 343i was literally founded to continue the halo series, it was a brand new game company with only CE: Anniversary to their name when they released H4. There are many disappointments from H4 and H5 for me, being a huge fan of the bungie titles. However too often people focus on all of the negatives. 343i has tried so hard to innovate, in some contexts I like it, in others not so much. I love warzone, it feels like the evolution of the old big team battle, but now big team sucks. I think they’ve done a good job at innovating the movement system, without mimicking other games, people say it is like advanced warfare but it’s really not, halo 5 is its own beast and I respect that, though I do like hitting up the classic MCC playlists to play old school halo. The simple fact is that a game company coming from nothing cannot be expected to turn out a fully functional AAA title, I don’t think its excusable, I blame microsoft. But they have done their best to listen to the community and make a game that people enjoy. There was no file share on release, it’s coming soon. We begged and begged and begged for a UNSC air vehicle and we got one. We got infection, grifball. Arguably these should have been there originally but free DLC is free DLC, and a game company that inherits expectations with out any momentum is unlikely to succeed without copping a tonne of flak. There is no way 343 could have released a game that everyone would be happy with, bungie copped a tonne of bad mouth for Reach and it was an amazing game imo, and that was THEIR title, 343 is just trying to make something different. A reskin of halo 3 or halo reach wouldnt have been sufficient.
