You seem to have it in your heads that every person playing Halo 4 in the US is going to have dozens of games of Double XP. I highly doubt this is the case. I myself can’t even find the Doritos and Mountain Dew codes in my town.
Also, just because they have a double XP bonus doesn’t mean they’re going to automatically be good. Terrible players will probably end up with just as much XP at the end of the game as the top players in the game. I really wouldn’t worry too much about us having a competitive edge over you.
Are we even sure people outside the US will be playing against us?
There are codes where at the wal-mart where i live. But I have none, Its stupid to go buy tons of junk food for something like double xp…IMHO
however if you are heading grocery shopping and you need a bag of chips. I see no reason not to buy the halo chips lol.
My point being, It is a minority of people who are seriously spending the cash to max out the double XP. So to you foreigners for, lack of a better term, they have no bigger edge on you than they have on me…or any other average person and or not rich person (who has money to blow on something like that) for that matter.
i will not be participating in double XP, i live in the U.S and have a ready supply of MD at my work, i could open one a night and get plenty of double XP. but i wont.
I might pick up a pack of Mountain Dew if I can find one, though that’s not a hard sell since it’s my usual pop anyways.

It’s not in anyway a ‘competitive edge’.

The codes are free if you write in and ask for them. You don’t have to buy a bunch of chips.

What about unlocking weapons earlier? I don’t want to be killed just because I cannot spawn with the carbine, yet.
LOL. I have no problem with this double EXP thing because we will be running these Bad kids into the ground when they rank up double the speed but can’t play for the life of them.
They’re gonna look bad when lower levels are owning them. To the 1% that will still own, good on ya you deserve it, to the rest have fun being owned by people half your level.
Just like all those bought level 50’s in Halo 3 that were getting owned, same will occur here.

It´s still not fair, people with double XP will have already a new Specialization and their Custom Loadout, but we need to rank up normally first…
And I hope I won´t play against the US or other Country’s nearby, because of the unbelievable lags, like in Halo 3.
Omega is of course right ! i live in the uk and i dont care about double xp the only kids that do and will get lots of codes are the ones with low self esteem who want everyone to see their rank and be impressed, We all know how funny it is to play inheritors in reach and destroy them because they have played a ton of games but got no better and getting a rank on your own merit feels like youve earnt it and you have not just brought it, and i hope i get to play with kids from across the pond i find on the whole uk kids not as competative see you on the 6th !!!
Damn it.
Ignore.

I’ve seen a few people complain that we’ll get guns faster than them and have an edge.

You’ve never played Halo online have you?

I’ve never played Halo 4 online, so who knows how they want to do it yet.
Most of my Halo time was spent on 2 and a decent amount of Reach. 3 came out as I was moving out of the parents house so I didn’t play that one a whole lot.
I just find it unfair that one specific country is getting a benefit from something that other countries can’t (even if people in that country don’t buy the product). We still pay the same amount of money (basically) and support the studios the same and it’s like a massive, “Well, we like America more” statement.
Even if it is Doritos and that energy drink that escapes my mind at the moment.
I don’t really care though. I just don’t like it. Everyone has their opinions, though, and I respect yours.
Yh, but the truth is that if your rich you could buy LOADS of double xp which aint really fair…
Bet if everywhere but america got double xp, that would kick up a fuss. I hopefully won’t play with many Americans cus im in the UK.
If UK and the rest of the European nations are seeing a midnight release of the game much the same way it’s done in the US, then Europe will see the release of Halo 4 several hours before anybody in the US.
Talk about a competitive edge, amirite? Maybe 343 looked at the promotion as a way for Americans to be able to play “catch-up” with everyone else who has timezones work in their favor for things like the release of a new game, haha.
If it were up to me everyone would have it obviously. It is pretty strange that it’s being limited to certain places. I’m not sure how many matches you get per code, but that would be quite a good chunk of change to max out 200 matches. I could afford it, but it just seems like a waste. Hopefully most people feel the same.

We pay more for the game here in Australia. we should we paying roughly the same as the americans, but we’re paying $80 for standard and $130 for LE. The hightlighted bit is what i agree with though. I wouldn’t buy any anyways, but it’s still unfair.
