To those new to Halo Releases : RELAX. ENJOY

Not to sound too elitist but I have been around these and bungie forums since CE. I’ve been around during halo2/3 and so on.

Right now you’ll see hate. Bad reviews from people here or critics saying its bad. Boring. Short. And more bad things. You’ll feel like its bad and you won’t enjoy it…

This is normal for ALL halos. Halo2 and halo3 got huge back lashes from “fans”. So don’t feel like halo5 is -Yoink- or bad because of it. This thing happens to all halos. Even back during halo2.

Does it mean halo5 is flawless?
NO

Does it mean its a blunder?
NO

What does it mean?
Play it. Give it a fair review yourself. Don’t go in with any outside biases. If you like it. You’ll like it

Also remember

1: some critics never played halo or have too much. They are not gods or special. Most couldn’t review a rock correctly

2: Most people who like it won’t be here. So more haters will stay. Anyone who likes halo games will be too busy playing to be defending it. The loudest voice isn’t always the right one

There is also the annoying fact that allot of reviewers are saying the story relies too much on the expanded universe and I am here wondering how that is a bad thing T_T Halo has one of the best expanded universes in gaming! Thank you 343 for bringing it in

Halo 5 goes from Hunt the Chief to Still… Hunting the Chief… to Judgement Day.
Also, no infection, king of the hill, race, territories, vip, oddball, etc. with no sign of them having a guaranteed spot in the game for the upcoming future.
Even merely having to wait for them is too rediculous an expectation because ‘Titanfall Effect’ - people will have left by the time there’s any creative freedoms available in the game.

I hope the new players will be able to enjoy playing the campaign and stick out with the multiplayer considering it’s a bit lacking at launch. I’ll be joining in later since I have a number of projects coming up and got a few games I need to go through first.

Im ready, some people are just funny little hate machines and well, they’ve got the internet lol.

It is a bad thing because not that many people dedicate time towards reading the expanded universe, not to mention that the actual novels are not particularly good, literature-wise. I have not read Glasslands, The Thursday War, or Mortal Dictata, but I’ve played every game excepting Spartan Assault and Strike. Books are to fill in backstories or provide certain information that are not in the games, not to make future games dependent on the stories in the EU.

TL;DR, Base the stories of any future games on the previous games, not on the EU.

Exactly what OP said, relax and enjoy…
